The AVN awards are next week in Las Vegas. My company is hosting a party all week at an executive suite in the Bellagio. So I'll be there for the next couple of weeks. We're there for CES, but I'm hoping to venture out and have some fun in the city. Let me know if you're in town and want to get together.

It's cold. It's like bone-chilling cold. I know it's not as cold as elsewhere, but it's literally as cold as it can get without offering the beauty or the benefit of snow (skiing, and watching old people slip on the sidewalk).

It's dark. I had to go somewhere at 4:30pm today, and it was already dark out. WTF? Who's (un)bright idea was that?

It's wet. It's going to rain non-stop between now and like mid-April. I like water, but I like to be *on* the water, like on my boat. That's where I should be right now. With the sun beating down on me. Oh, and with the heat cranked up, it's not only wet all the time outside, but it's skin-crackingly dry inside. Thanks. Thanks for that itchy, flaky icing on the hell-cake from all you people who choose not to opt for the humidity controlled HVAC systems.

It's crowded. Who are you people who come out at this time of year and clog up the roads, the stores, and everything else that prevents me from getting from point A to point B?

It's germy. Who are you people who are bringing us these dreaded germs? Stop touching things I touch. Stop touching me, and stop breathing my same air.

It's ugly. The sky, when it's not dark, is gray. The hills are brown. The trees look dead. People look ghastly. *I* look awful.

It's hectic. Stop. Just stop doing things this time of year. Everyone I'm working with is pushing as hard as we can for year-end goals as well as getting a jump on Q1. Yet, we have holidays, parties, and all kinds of random crap to do. Don't even get me started on taxes and other financial stuff. Now is simply not a good time to do *anything* but be in bed, watch TV, sleep and have sex. Actually, due to the writers strike, TV is no good either. Damn, it sucks to be single right about now.

This isn't right. This time of year just shouldn't exist. Make it go away!

I'm on the boat again this week. Here's a pic from when I was out during the last full moon. I had spent the day on Angel Island with some friends and that night in Tiburon saw the most brilliant moonrise I've ever seen.

This trip is another offsite work week, but it's a video shoot as opposed to booring SWOT analysis stuff. Plus I get to keep the toys! (we're shooting product reviews).

PS: Taking pictures of yourself at night is hard.

I've returned from the San Juan Islands (what a great trip!) It took me a while to catch up, but now I'm looking at taking my boat out in San Francisco -> Petaluma the last week in July. I'll be at the South Beach Marina on Wednesday so I can go to BaGG, get drunk, and stumble my way back to the boat!
