Mitt Romney's Nauseating Comments As He Slinked Off The Campaign Trail...

   Thu, February 7, 2008 - 6:08 PM
Gov. Mitt Romney's words as he announced that he was ceding the race for the Republican presidential nomination to Sen. John McCain, were chilling.

"This is not an easy decision for me. I hate to lose," Mr. Romney said. "If I fight on in my campaign, all the way to the convention, I would forestall the launch of a national campaign and make it more likely that Senator Clinton or Obama would win. And in this time of war, I simply cannot let my campaign, be a part of aiding a surrender to terror," he said during the conference.

As you can see from his photo, Mitt Romney is a fudgepacker. Not that there's anything wrong with THAT.

Nauseating yes, the whole "in this time of war" is just scary, but there are also elements on truth in there. The Democrats were hoping the roles would be reversed right now. They wanted the Republicans to be fighting it out all the way to the convention and continue in disarray. The Dems had hoped that either Clinton or Obama would have wrapped it up by now and would have plenty of time to start on the national campaign. I hope they don't screw it up, the best thing the Democrats could do right now is wrap it up quick.

Nauseating
Indeed! Made me want to puke!

We CANNOT allow John McCain to win! I'm personally disgusted with California for choosing Hillary over Barack. (Thank you to all of you who actually voted for Barack :-) So much for being the progressive, trail blazing state. By choosing 'SAFE' and longing for the PAST, California HELPED Hillary stay in the game LONGER. A vote for Hillary WAS a vote for McCain and his 100 years war! He will only get STRONGER as the Republican front runner over the next few months, and he WILL beat Hillary in the general election. www.time.com/time/politi...1123,00.html

I feel like the Democratic party is on CRAZY PILLS!

Hopefully there are enough forward thinking Democrats, enlightened Independents and reformed Republicans to deliver the nomination to Barack. He definitely has a better chance at beating McCain than Hillary does. She is abhorred by too many people across the nation, especially Republicans, to beat McCain.

My 2 1/2 cents.

I'm glad those other 13 states that handed Barack a victory on Super Tuesday, saw the light and showed they had some balls.

Hi Kalla!
I guess this election has you a little wound up! Thanks for your efforts and involvement, we need it!

I prefer personally to direct my hostility to what I consider the real enemies (the Bush gang and the right wingers and religious zealots trying to turn our country into a theocracy).

I voted for Obama, but personally would have no problem if Clinton got elected.

I would even be so much happier with McCain than what we've had. Even though he backed Bush on the war, he had the guts to come out and tell the truth about how the war has been so badly mismanaged, and he has consistently bashed our country's hypocritical and dangerous and illegal position on torture for interrogation.

The fact that the Republicans went for the most moderate of the Republican candidates, even while the Democratic front runners were much much further to the left than previous Democratic candidates, shows that the entire country is shifting more progressive.

Shift happens!
