Tim's Log

Avast ye!

BOOM had a great 2008 season! Our fight shows this year were magnificent!
I have a special place in my heart for the shows at Vallejo.

At PPF last week, we had over 7500 people watching our Beach Battle on Saturday. With 10 cannons, 20 small arms, 40 performers, and 20 stage fighters, we made one hell of spectacle.
And it only proves what I’ve been trying to say all along “More is More!”
And that pirate brawl… did you see those crowds out past those ropes?

2007... best year ever.

I loved this year ... what a friggin phenomonal year.

My astrologer friend (Karen) told me to be as ambitious as possible in 2007.

And I met most of my 2007 objectives.
"Pirates of Penzance best show ever"
"BOOM Fight Director"
"WRFF 2007 best faire ever"
"Transformers movie rocked“ (I know lots of people were worried about it sucking but it seems that Michael Bay has redeemed himself)
"The Scottish Play phenomonal" (particularly opening night... read more

Hallow's Eve was all about the opening of the Scottish Play. And it was phenomenal.

I don't know what shifted between Tuesday's fight call and opening night... but by Crom that show was incredible. I still get a little teary eyed during some of those scenes and last night. Wow. Some of those kids just really stepped up. I was worried that the gruesome nature and blood in the murders would be too much for the audience as some of them covered their eyes with programs, but it all just... read more

At last, my master evil plan has come to fruition!
I have crushed my enemies, seen them lain down before me, and heard the lamentations of their women!
I win! I win! I win!

All my theatrical goals for 2007 were accomplished.

I'm psyched to be Fight Directing the Scottish Play. Jeremy, my brother, the director, made some very good casting choices and I've got great fighters in the right places. And the scenes we mapped out today are going to be stunning.

I love working with my brother. He did 'Caucasion Chalk Circle' last February - it was just heart wrenching. We haven't done any 'major' projects together since we played Gog and Magog the singing executioners. That was so long ago.

Now it's his tur... read more

Tim's Testimonial

April 19, 2007
What can one say about Mr. Morty?

He's dashing, he's daring, he's smart, he's funny... and he didn't even have to hypnotize or bribe me to get me to say any of that. Much. He has a lovely singing voice. He has very dreamy and muscular arms. He hardly ever drops me on stage. He is a partner in crime for me and can hum the 'Mission Impossible' theme while running in the dark, even after several rounds of shots. He has a very shiny cannon. He does a very convincing cat impression. He's a divine dancer. He's my most favorite-est pirate... err... privateer... err... private gentleman of fortune.

(Don't tell Steve that, though)
