Every life has dark tracts and long stretches of somber tint, and no representation is true to fact which dips its pencil only in light, and flings no shadows on the canvas.

about me
I'm an academically trained painter of the naturalist school with dreams of ressurecting imaginative and narrative painting alla Repin, Waterhouse, Bonnat, Moreau, Dore, Rackam, etc, which makes me by some standards a quite obsessed idealist. When I'm not wrecking my brain obsessing about painting I like to peruse bookshops, meet likeminded people to be anti-social with, watch a movie that will leave me unsettled for days or lock myself up in my apartment, listen to music and ignore the doorbell.

That's my most recent project, "The Prodigal Son", a work-in-progress still at this point, a few sessions from being finished.

Magda is my closest friend. I am so glad to have met her (with the help of Josh) when I did. Both Magda and her husband Matt are such wonderful people. I love cooking you dinner/cooking with you and bullshiting for hours about art, life, castles,Poland & friends with both of you...
I cant wait to haunt your castle one day in Poland...and scare you with every chance I get *evil grin* Its going to be great to travel with you guys one day(for many a day) painting all around the world. I will be glad to model for you again and again...I love the way you paint and am honored to be in a painting created by you. It feels wonderful that I inspire you to want to paint me so often. I would rather you paint me then anyone else. I'm going to miss bringing you both room service across town...a rosted chicken or whatever.. now that you are leaving Italy and moving back to Chicago. I wish I never lived more then a bike ride away from you both for the rest of my days. You are like my sister, Matt my brother, my 2nd family. Its a funny felling how I can hang out with you both and feel we are on the same level...then...I look at your art and it floors me because its so wonderful and inspiring to me and all who see it..and the next thing I notice, is you Magda, lying on the floor next to me, because you just fell out of your chair ;) big bear hugs and scratches..for you and Matt love you hun, -Chantelle aka..just some long hair girl aka..the girl with the pearl earing aka..Magdas Model
