Apollo, the God of light, of reason, of proportion, harmony, number -
Apollo blinds those who press too close in worship. Don't look
straight at the sun. Go into a dark bar and have a beer with Dionysos,
every now and then.

Do you read web-comics? Jesus Fuck, I can't get enough of the things. This one in particular is a brilliantly sprawling graphic novel about a young, introverted journalist with a broken lock and some kind of medication... but the real center of the story is the setting itself.

Templar is a large fictional city that most people mistake for near-future science fiction, but the author, a Chicago woman who goes by the name Spike, insists that it's more of an alternative present. It's like this world, except it has better public art and more extremist countercultures. And apparently you can throw ceramics in the coffeehouse. The characters are deeply fascinating, even when you have no real clue about what exactly is going on, which is often. Spike's a very subtle writer, revealing the bits and pieces of what's going on at a rate just fast enough to let you know there's more going on under the surface.

It's about 120 pages into it, 2 or 3 coming out every week. Start from the beginning. It's not like you were going to get anything done before lunch anyway.
