Several collaborative works will be presented including one directed by Caroline Penwarden in which I'm singing along with Sarah Elena Palmer and Jen Harper. We've been developing and rehearsing this piece for the past two months and have some exciting results. Day of the DEAD: Local South Mausoleum performance today

LOCAL SOUTH MAUSOLEUM calls attention to the reality that death is all around us whether it be on South Van Ness, Gulf Coast; Southeast Asia, Southern Iraq, South America or locations. This mausoleum will be a visual celebration of shrines dedicated to the participating communities loved ones who have passed on. The community mausoleum will contain four columbarium altars on the interior. The columbarium altars on the interior will be created by four different communities in San Francisco: The Sister’s of Perpetual Indulgence, Sunny Harker and her Leonard R. Flynn School - 5th Grade Class, Tenderloin Health Services, Mission District Artist & Performers. The mindful approach and goal of the four directions is to express inter-connectivity. Various Bay Area performances artist will be performing and celebrating remembrance throughout the evening on the Local South Mausoleum Lawn.

There are a variety of Day of the Dead activities happening throughout the mission that night. Our contribution and participation takes place at the end of the procession route which begins at 24th & Mission and ends @ Garfield Park at 26th & Harrison.

The mausoleum is about 10ft x 10ft with a 12ft Lawn in front of it where the performances will take place.

PLASTIQUE: a Gallery of Poetics -- Sequence #2 ( FRI @ 6-10pm)

picture islands of illuminated language emerging from grass, quilted poetry sewn into imaginary beds, illusory 4x4x4x4x4x4x4x4 cubes of verse, and the memory construction of artifacts in projected light -- these along with my "mirrorrim", a 15 foot paper tube poem snaking down from the ceiling, will animate a temporary gallery of **poetry PLASTIQUE** this friday @ Mills College.
