Marco is my newfound friend, and a better man can not be found. He is light and love and laughter, and FUN! He cares deeply and truly. His energy is amazing. I am so very glad that we crossed paths, and hope to journey with him for many lifetimes to come.

What can I say.... This guy has pushed my limits and inspired my fire dancing since I've started the art! I've never admitted that to anyone! Not only that, but he's just an awesome down to earth guy to hang with.

Sweet shaman poet, my soul brother since forever and my little girl's godfather. A true noble soul! I waxeth overly waxingly, I know, but still...

Marcopolo is a beacon of light in the midst of darkness.
I'm on fire...and he has re-kindled the flames of my soul.
I thought of him when I read this poem:
Sweet Darkness
When your eyes are tired
the world is tired also.
When your vision has gone
no part of the world can find you.
Time to go into the dark
where the night has eyes
to recognize its own.
There you can be sure
you are not beyond love.
The dark will be your womb
tonight.
The night will give you a horizon
further that you can see.
You must learn one thing.
The world was made to be free in.
Give up all the other worlds
except the one to which you belong.
Sometimes it takes darkness and the
sweet confinement of your aloneness
to learn
anything or anyone
that does not bring you alive
is too small for you.
~David Whyte
Thank you, Marcopolo, for in the brief time I've known you, you have expanded my consciousness.

I LOVE THIS GUY!!!!!
February 23, 2006
brother clown fire god who sambas up a storm on high...
Strong yet sensitive, and always entertaining,

This fella's a force of nature.

We've worked together, performed together, partied together, a fair few times over 5 years thus far...
A most inspiring and encouraging character, no matter what character he wears, with poetic humor, limit-pushing intents, and positivity that's contagious, it's always an experience running in to Marco. Just look at his tribe pictures, I mean who is this guy! like every cool movie character rolled into one firey ball of entertainment?
Thanks for being, Marco.

Tough on the outside, tender on the inside... quick of wit, sharp of tongue, true of heart... restless, inexhaustible, always moving yet never flighty... harbors a healthy skepticism, a well-calibrated bullshit detector, and an unflinching sense of direction and purpose in life.
In this world there aren't many people who have the balls to dream big and the even bigger balls it takes to make those dreams come true.
Marco's testicles could eclipse the sun.

Well... he has a beautiful smile and chocolate eyes...and tastes just as wonderful.... he packs it all in as tight as possible as to not miss or waste one second of time...a delicious package all the way... oh! and did I mention he was on fire?!.....

One of the biggest mistakes I made in my life was turning this guy down.

My last testimonial for Marco didn't do him justice, so I'll try again.
He's a tornado that has stopped for a few moments and taken on a human form in order to make jokes and point out what is wonderful and what is important. Now and again he reverts to tornado form, which you can really only see because he's flinging around something that's on fire.

...and in this dream I was at a fancy-schmancy dinner party being thrown by an aristocrat in Victorian England.
I was dressed the part, and my table manners were adequate, but my accent had piqued their interest and other dinner guests want to know where I was from.
To which I replied "I am from the future".
They lapped that up, eyes brightening across the table, and a stream of questions were asked immediately, which I attempted to answer with the greatest possible cordiality:
Tell us, how is England in the future?
- "My dear Lady, although no longer an Empire, England remains the model of decorum and taste in the English-speaking world."
Do people still die?
- "Oh yes, but at a later age perhaps, and generally more healthy."
Is there still War in the future?
- "I'm afraid so, of a nature so dastardly and low that I would be remiss to answer with any detail, even away from the dinner table."
Do people still fall in love?
- "Oh yes, with greater ease and frequency, and sometimes even with the same depth of commitment."
...And then there was a question that stumped me:
Is the future then better, or worse than today?
I stammered a moment, thinking of an answer befitting an ambassador for Tomorrow, and then replied:
- "The future is neither better nor worse. It is.... more... more SINCERE. And as such, it has a greater potential for savagery, as well as greatness."
At that point, the dinner party grew quiet, pensive, and perhaps a little nervous. War did not scare them, neither did death. SINCERITY frightened them into an uneasy silence.

It is one of the few dreams that has stayed in my memory so strongly. I can't get it out of my head.
So, I began to think of HG Wells and his Time Machine. I think my dream echoes some of the precepts in the novel, especially that as human civilization progresses, there is less and less adherence to a unified code of politeness, a single moral platform, and eventually the whole process breaks down into a savage polarization of Haves & Have-nots, in this case the Morloks and the Eloi. Social pretense is out the window, and the ruling class enslave and eat the defenseless working class.
This is a simplification of the theories of Marx & Heggel, who were writing their now-famous manifestoes at about the same time.
All of these literary works reflect the underlying concern of the era: The power of the Industrial Elite over the quickly growing masses of the Working Class.
.... And I remember thinking about this in my dream, that it is a function of the Upper Class to question the future, because they are the only ones with any free time to do so., which is why traditionally countercultural & revolutionary instigators have tended to be educated children of the Wealthy Elite.
So in this way the Master Caste sows the seeds of its own destruction. It's a story repeated over and over again in history.
And seeing how HG Wells was not just a writer of fiction, but actually one of our most successful prophets (he predicted credit cards, cellular phones, two world wars, nuclear weapons, globalization, space travel, and environmental crisis before there were even words for these things), I'm kinda concerned for the end result of Human civilization.
Because it *is* becoming more sincere, and that's not necessarily a pretty thing.
