Flyting or something akin to it

August 17, 2008
margaret's smile could be the governments next secret weapon. i've often been caught in the cross fire as she glances around the room while she laughs. and then every once in a while she smiles at me... right at me, direct hit, i'm down, i'm down.

every time i blink i have at tiny dream:

this day was bleak. i took an unintended nap late in the afternoon and had a nightmare in which i knew who the "bad guy" was but he never got around to doing anything nefarious. it was a dream about anticipating malicious action and trying to take care of other people who were oblivious. then i woke up to a drafty, dark, cold, empty warehouse. greg gave me a hug and mike gave me herbal tea and i'm feeling slightly better now in my little cave with the glow of the interwubs to comfort me.

trouble is, apple makes a damned expensive computer.
students (most places, i think) get a discount on apple computers. you can use your student discount every two years last time i checked. so here's what i need: a student who isn't planning to buy another computer sometime soon an... read more

Check it out!

I went to Reno with the Vulcan Crew to perform at their Fire Arts Festival / Precompression.
Greg and I performed the partner poi routine we created for Burning Man Conclave as the opening act to the Vulcan Crew set. It was great fun to do; it was my first performance of any kind in a very very long time; it was my first poi performance ever. There will be a few opportunities to see us burn the piece on-playa... read more

...so you'll always have somewhere to go.

True words! On this point I agree strongly with Forest.

Having burned our partner poi piece again on Sunday, I had another look at the VulcanConclave video. [sidenote: related videos include North Korea Mass Games. hellz fuckin yeah!!] I was proud of our routine when we filmed it, and am still proud of what it represents. We have also improved upon it significantly since then, and of that I am also proud. It's rewarding to really be able to see... read more

Slow but crisp - the sleepless 7am that rolls around and tells you that it is now a new and much more reasonable day unfit for bonfires and techno. In the giddy surreal of sleep deprivation, two thin, banded women tumble from a diner, wrapped in colorless jackets against Spring's toothy morning chill.
Out from a faceted glass room the underground yawns with a passing train. The women slide their cards and are permitted inside. "Morning, Sunshine," the Underground says "Back home, is it?"
An... read more
