Got home around 2 pm from a weekend of camping at TRF only to find someone had broken into our house.
They ripped out screens in two windows, then finally just broke the window at the back door and got in.
Took my laptop and the accessories.
Took our digital camera that I had JUST gotten back from Canon for repairs. It would have been at TRF if I could have found the battery.
Took two rings that charles gave me years ag!
But they also took our gun!! That frightens us most.
They went through all the drawers, our dresser and rooms...Luckily as well is we are remodeling and the house looks terrible!

But we are both besides ourselves. I have to remain calm b/c Charles is livid. We barred up the window and charles slept on the couch.
B/c once it happens to you, you never feel at ease again.

additional rant:
what makes people think they can take what isn't theirs?
Breaking into others homes, cars, offices, business...what makes them think it is ok to do that?
ANd not jsut property but what is wrong with people that makes them think they can take someone's child?

PEOPLE SUCK!

(borrowed from Amazon) This should probably be taped to your bathroom mirror where one could read it everyday. You may not realize it, but it's 100% true.

1. There are at least two people in this world that you would die for.
2. At least 15 people in this world love you in some way.
3. The only reason anyone would ever hate you is because they want to be just like you.
4. A smile from you can bring happiness to anyone, even if they don't like you.
5. Every night, SOMEONE thinks about you before they go to sleep.
6. You mean the world to someone.
7. You are special and unique.
8. Someone that you don't even know exists loves you.
9. When you make the biggest mistake ever, something good comes from it
10. When you think the world has turned its back on you take another look.
11. Always remember the compliments you received. Forget about the rude remarks.

And always remember....when life hands you Lemons, ask for TEQUILA and SALT,
and call me over!

I just got off the phone with Charles. He works downtown and was on his way to lunch in the tunnels. A father and his 3 kids were getting off the escalator when some how one of the little kid's shoe gets caught, the escalator strained to stop..but there was some sort of serge and well the little girl lost her foot in the accident.

Charles asked me to pass this encounter on to all of you with small children in hopes none of ya'll experience this. Please please pick your kids up when you get on an escalator.

Love.
Marcie and Charles

PS...Charles is so upset by this... hearing about it breaks my heart but watching it unfold...

This weekend was filled with dance!
Friday night was drum jam at Sirrom and man o man did I dance and dance and dance! Got to play and dance with the Gypsy Sisters and My Mahalla partners! Sang HAPPY B-day to Miss Tala (actual bday is next week but hey it's the start of TalaFEST!!) Got home and didn't get into bed till like 2am!
Saturday I ran around and did little errands then came home and chilled. Got ready for the Pirate party and set out for Sirrom. The show was too much fun...lots of acts--not just BD--And Jessica & Joe Trapp as Pirate Joe and his Parrot were too damn funny! Our performance was so much fun. Afterwards we ended up doing an impromptu photoshoot. First we were taking turns taking pics of one another, then Charles came looking for me b/c we disappeared. He took over the camera and we came out with some GRREAT pics (IMHO). Got home and spent some time editing the video, in bed at 2 again! Sunday morning more working on the video and photos before we left for the Japanese Festival--love those big ASS drums! Headed home to get ready for another party but my tummy had other ideas. So as I laid on the couch I monkeyed with photoshop and the new pics..I think for having NO training in photo shop or design layout I rocked it! LOL!

The other ladies I dance with both had black ghawazee coats and mine was blue even though they said it was ok I didn't want to stand out like a BLUE beacon when we wore them.
SSSOOOOOoooo I found a black velvet looong dress at Walmart....
Cut it up the center
Cut it up the side to the hip
Cut the sleeves up to the shoulder
Cut out the bust line
Hemmed all cut areas
Added trim to the sleeves, front and side slits
Added frogs
Added buttons at the elbow

VOILA!! Under $75 bucks plus the time to do it but it is done! Started Weds night, finished Thursday, wearing it tomorrow!

I love it when a Plan comes together!

May the sun
bring yu the new energy by day,
May the moon
softly restore you by night
May the rain
wash away your worries
Maythe breeze
blow new strength into your being
May you walk
gently through the world and know
its beauty all the days of your life

Last weekend I made a ghawazee coat from Saturday at 7 pm till 12 midnight. With breaks to rest my neck and eyes from sewing strain and to read tribe! Sunday morning picked up the frog closures and put them on the coat! It's done and looks wonderful!!

This weekend , I almost finished my new corset bra and belt. Need to add closures for the bra, make tassels for the belt. Also added on more project, a panel skirt to make it more of a skorset ala Tempest.

I just loooove Tempest' pattern!!
I'll post pics of the projects later. It sucks that work gets in the way of my sewing!! :D

Let's see...I got home and worked on my music for EBD tonight...took an eternity it seemed. But burned the CD and put on my ipod...Got up this morning at 3 am b/c hubby's allergies were making him snore like a freight train. I had to go sleep in the living room. Got up at 515 to shower etc for the day, grabbed my dance bag and left...got 1/2 way to work and couldnt' find my CD for tonight!!!! I got to work and figured i"ll just burn from ipod..well after an HOUR of jacking with it, i can't figure it out! :( Went back out to my car and luckily had the cd from last month's EBD show and another mix cd I made for Buffalo fred's now derailed show. So all is covered...scared to look at my dance bag..who knows what else I may have forgotten??!!

I sure hope I can pull myself together before tonights show!!!

For some reason lately i've had this urge to cut my hair..
not super short but maybe to just at shoulder length..
I've been trying to grow it out forever and I just can't get it past were it is now...top of bra strap...
I colored it b/c my ends like to turn reddish so I colored to cover it and thought that would maybe satisify my hair issues but NOPE...i still want to cut it...aargh!

I'm not doing much cabaret lately so don't really NEED it but want to keep it long for those times I do!

It just takes FOREVER in the shower and to dry it strangles me in my sleep. I go trhough products soo quickly.......

to cut or not to cut that is the question....
