<div>Another angel returns to the light...

This weekend we celebrated the life of a beloved friend who passed away last Tuesday after 8 mos. battling cancer. I am still at a loss for words. Below is an excerpt from another friend's blog about him.

Check out pictures and more info at http://ottoschutt.com/

>>>
Otto still continues to inspire me. I was speaking to Otto’s Dad last night who said through this whole experience Otto has had gratitude for the challenge and complete acceptance that this was his path. Powerful, courageous, grace, wisdom, love.

I was thinking about Otto, about life, and about my purpose. Why am I here? What can I do better? How can I be of service in a more authentic and loving way to myself and others? There is a depth of loss and sadness that it’s almost hard to believe Otto is not here any longer (in the physical world) but what I noticed is how much everyone wants to carry on his energy and positive spirit and purpose. That is what is different in this whole thing. Me included. Purpose is to love and be loved. To give and receive goodness. To be a reflection of the divine within all of us in all we do. Not so easy but Otto showed it’s possible.

That is the Otto Effect. He makes you happy, smile, inspired, lighter, grateful, loving, open, aware, and want to be a better person.

I feel all that and I have spent only limited time with him but he oozes that love out to everyone who passes it along and along and along. The Otto Effect will continue on through you and all the people who have been lucky to have known him or even known of him.

The Otto Effect.

    </a>
<div>"I must create a system, or be enslaved by another man's," wrote visionary poet William Blake. I suggest you write out that quote and keep it in plain sight throughout 2008. The coming months will be prime time for you to design a highly organized, richly disciplined approach to living the life you want to live, and doing it with such rigor and vigor that you will never again have to be controlled by or pay constant homage to someone else's life plan.

Your main assignment in 2008 is to become highly skilled at feeling good. Does that sound like something you might want to do? If so, here's the beginning of a regimen you could follow: (1) Be constantly taking notes about what experiences give you delight and what situations make you feel at home in the world. (2) Always be scheming to provide yourself with those experiences and situations. (3) Take a vow that nothing will obstruct you from seeking out and creating pleasure, peace, love, wonder, and an intimate connection with life.

PSYCHEDELIC-SOUL and ROOTS MUSIC

Bringing positive vibrations to your community through song, dance and celebration.

IZABELLA was born out of years of musical connections. Like many bands before, and many yet to come, the search for new music is what ultimately brings these musicians together. The love of the improvisational/jam community is what drives and inspires them to push forward. Sean Lehe (guitar/vocals), Lucas Carlton (drums) and Murph (bass/guitar) spent four years recording and touring with Bay Area jamband, Home At Last. With a desire for a fresh start, the trio decided in the spring of 2006 to branch out with a new face and renewed sense of purpose. After years of networking in the scene, close connections were made with some of the most talented players around. As a result, the trio has grown to a five-piece machine following a musical merger with Sacramento based “Four Guys From Reno”. The Sacramento boys bring the soulful energy of Brian Rogers (vocals/bass/percussion/guitar) and the chunky funk of Sam Phelps (keys/bass/guitar/vocals). Brian and Sam have been musical brothers since High School and have already created an impressive legacy of solo recordings.

The intent of this group is to develop a musical space that is exploratory, challenging AND accessible. Inspired genre-bending songwriting, danceable energy, and emotive vocals are the key ingredients toward this end. No musical experience, however, is complete without strong community. As IZABELLA was born from musical connections, so will it thrive and grow with positive connections made in the community.

The band made big strides in its first year of operation. After 80 gigs from March to December of ‘07, exceptional performances at Bobolink Music Festival and Las Tortugas Dance of the Dead, and sit-ins with Tim Carbone and Andy Goessling of Railroad Earth and Scott Law, this band has created a huge buzz in California. In January of 2008, the IZABELLA boys released their second studio creation "In The West", and began to tour fulltime and nationwide. The first release, "Dream When You Sleep", was recently picked up for distribution in Japan by Grey Dog's Records.

“At an Izabella show, you will see three different bass players, two drummers, everyone plays guitar or something with strings, everyone will beat on some sort of drum or shaker… this kind of switching up instruments gives us access to an unbelievable amount of colors, styles, rythms, textures and grooves. This is the most comfortable musical situation I could have ever imagined.” Four of the six members are songwriters, most play multiple instruments and each of them sings.

"They are one of the best bands I've seen..." said TCL's Jason Sherman. "They're for real. This is a show you definitely want to see."

"Every time we get together we have fun," Lehe said. ""That's why we're working toward being together as often as we can. It's a responsibility."

Drew Caiden - a one man show

The saying “we might be through with the past, but the past is never through with us” has resonated with all of us at some point in our lives. Drew Caiden's Strawberry Daiquiri explores the realms of relationships and ambiguity as seen through the eyes of a man who has come to re-enter the life of a “woman” he once loved seven years ago. What ensues is a kaleidoscope journey through gender identity, confusion, manipulation and the fact that what we appear to be, is not always what we truly are. It is a show with laughs, and tears, and all in between as we watch first hand a drag queen in the privacy of her own dressing room having just performed her show in a small fringe theatre in New York, still wrapped in her own fantasy of performance and fabulousness, be interrupted by her past, and undergo a transformation back to what we so deem as “reality.” What happens next, like all things in life, is a mystery waiting to unfold...

FLOWMOTION

With their high-energy, infectious rock and roll, Flowmotion dominates the live music scene in the Pacific Northwest. But with booked performances at the biggest West Coast music festivals this summer, including High Sierra and Earthdance Northern California, they are poised to break onto the national scene in 2008.

Flowmotion's live performances are renowned for stellar musicianship, contagious energy, packed dance floors and, courtesy of their two lead guitarists, smoking guitar riffs. Fronted by singer/ songwriter Josh Clauson (electric guitar, vocals), with RL Heyer (electric and slide guitars, vocals), Sabu Miyata (bass), Scott Goodwin (drums, vocals) and Bob Rees (percussion, vibraphone), Flowmotion's expertly controlled grooves harness the power of their funky, percussion-driven rock and roll.

Immersed in music since childhood, Sasha Butterfly Rose has been recording and touring extensively throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico, Australia, and beyond for over a decade creating lush soundscapes with her voice and original approach to music. She brings an angelic funky soulful download from the source, here to wake you up and shake you down.

Jamie Janover is a self-taught master of improvisation who has developed a range of musical style all his own. The 2002-2003 National Hammered Dulcimer Champion, he is recognized as a true innovator on the instrument. He brings new direction to the ancient string instrument, the hammered dulcimer, by applying diverse percussive techniques drawn from the other instruments he plays: drumkit, multi-percussion, tabla, congas, bongos, timbales, udu and didjeridoo electric kalimba, sampler pad, sitar, percussion and water.

Jamie has performed with a diverse group of bands and solo artists including The String Cheese Incident, The Motet, The Theory Of Everything, The Zambiland Orchestra, Vibe Squad, Zuvuya, Meeting of the Minds, The Dude of Life, Nederland Acid Jazz, and his own band, Jamie Janover and the Realms Ensemble, among others. Currently, his main project is a trio from Boulder, CO called ZILLA which features Michael Travis (the drummer from String Cheese Incident) and Aaron Holstein (Vibesquad). ZILLA a- live organic trance-groove electronica group. http://www.jamiejanover.com/

LYNX; beat boxing, soul moving, one woman show!! Her tasteful employment of electronic sounds beautifully accents her rhythm-oriented songwriting, lending her work a subtle atmosphere that immediately separates Lynx from her singer-songwriter peers. While she uses various soundscaping elements to great effect, it's particularly cool the way she intersperses beat boxing. Unless you've seen her live, you might never guess that she's actually making those sounds organically, as she switches effortlessly between beat-boxing and singing. Her new album may be titled Grain of Sand, but with music this inventive, Lynx is destined for greater things. http://lynxmusic.org/

Blue Cranes and Ebu Gogo
Thursday April 24th, 2008 - 8:00pm
$8 adv/ $10 DOS

Blue Cranes breathe new life into the structure and aesthetic of jazz. They describe their music as fusing "the repetitive elements of modern loop-based music with traditional and avant-garde jazz styles in an acoustic setting." Blue Cranes' music is driven by the intriguing alto saxophonist Reed Wallsmith. He immediately grabs the listener through the sheer size of his sound. His tone is big, expressive, and marked by a warm vibrato. He takes chances when he plays, using a variety of tonal shadings and some vocalized effects.

"In recent years, Portland has become a breeding ground for a number of exciting jazz combos, all of which aim to take the genre out of the cocktail lounge and into the indie rock club. One such group is an invigorating quartet known as Blue Cranes... "[They] haven't completely eschewed the notions of what jazz music is, writing straightforward works ... as well as proving they can ride a Latin groove with best of them. What makes Blue Cranes so enticing is how they stretch the boundaries of what jazz can be."

NEW MONSOON
Saturday April 26th, 2008 - 8:00pm
$10 adv/ $12 door

San Francisco's rock quintet, New Monsoon, has been transforming audiences across the country into dedicated fans with a relentless touring schedule. Their exhilarating marriage of acoustic and electric instruments comes together in an irresistible blend of sophisticated songcraft, inventive musical exploration and down home rock-n-roll.

The band's just released album New Monsoon V was produced, mixed and engineered by John Cutler, best known for his production work with The Grateful Dead on the platinum album In the Dark (co-produced with Jerry Garcia) and Without a Net (co-produced with Phil Lesh) and the Jerry Garcia Band's How Sweet It Is.

Strong vocals and harmonies, electric and acoustic guitars, banjo, mandolin, bass and keyboards, unify the musical styles of New Monsoon's influences, which are as diverse as rock gods Jimi Hendrix, Pink Floyd and Santana, bluesman Mississippi John Hurt and world music pioneers Tito Puente, Shakti and Peter Gabriel. New Monsoon's music is an experience of textures, rhythms, ideas and moods.

As Miller recently stated, "People are still going out to support live music. God bless them for it."

Dave Stringer
Sunday, April 27th, 2008 - 8:00pm
$20 advance/$25 DOS

Dave Stringer has been profiled in Time, Billboard, In Style, and Yoga Journal as a leader of the new American kirtan movement. Kirtan (from the Sanskrit word meaning "to sing") is an ancient practice of mantra chanting that has become popular as a participatory live music experience in hundreds of yoga studios across the U.S. As Dave says, at a kirtan "You're not just listening to the music, you are the music." Dave Stringer's sound marries the transcendent mysticism of traditional Indian instruments with the exuberant, groove-oriented sound of American gospel

Dave is promoting his new album, "Divas &amp; Devas" which is a beautiful collection of East Indian bhajans with contemporary arrangements, sung as male-female duets, in Sanskrit, Hindi and Marathi with some of the top female chant artists. The album is rich with the romantic and intimate interplay of masculine and feminine, gesturing toward the larger relationship of the human and the divine. Always an exciting and engaging performer, Dave's passionate and soulful live performances blend elements of American gospel, jazz and funk into traditional Indian ragas. He has been called the "Freight Train of Kirtan!"

"Stringer is an amazing, passionate performer. No, this isn't just gentle, soothing new age music and shouldn't be mistaken for it. It is there to engage the listener and speaks in an intuitive manner to the soul within."

Blending Malian, American, and "Dirty South" influences into a genre all its own, Toubab Krewe "has set a new standard for fusions of rock 'n' roll and West African music," says Banning Eyre at Afropop Worldwide. Members of the group developed their unique sound over the course of numerous extended trips to West Africa, where they immersed themselves in the local culture and studied and performed with masters such as Lamine Soumano, Vieux Kante, Madou Dembele, and Koungbanan Conde. The magnetic instrumental quintet formed in early 2005 and has attracted a diverse and devoted national following, captivating crowds everywhere from the Bonnaroo Music Festival and the Blue Note to the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. The band's energetic performances and acclaimed self-titled debut have won them praise from the New York Times, Global Rhythm, and Afropop Worldwide.

Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey
04/14/2008 - 8:00pm
$10 adv/ $12 door

From album to album and gig to gig, JFJO constantly redefine their terms, and in the process stretch the often-inflexible jazz genre. "Our music is about being open to whatever presents itself. We try to keep ourselves stimulated, not just with new songs but new approaches, trying to get our music closer to a pure thing than an ego-driven display. More selfless, less personal," says bassist Reed Mathis. "If we've had any mission statement it's to be unconventional in the best way, to find something novel at all times even if no one notices or cares, to do it just for our own spiritual jollies, to be experiencing discovery as often as possible. That leads to a new way to play jazz, a new way to improvise."

"Jazz means something very different to every single person on Earth," continues Haas. "We should just be called the 'Jacob Fred Music Odyssey' or 'Jacob Fred Life Odyssey.' We're just trying to evolve and be better people every day. It's a very simple thing. So, it's really a very personal thing for us. We three are learning to evolve and we're lucky that we have this music to help us through this process."

"Jazz is just a groove. It has to grow, be wider than the way it sounded in the '30s or 60s or any one era," offers drummer Jason Smart. "There are a lot of bands consistently helping it to grow like Dave Holland and Wayne Shorter, MMW, Brad Mehldau - all these different things filed under 'Jazz' but to different degrees they are and are not jazz."

JFJO just returned from their second tour of Europe in 2006, hitting Sweden, Germany, The Netherlands and Italy. Their music has also taken them to Finland and Brazil, and they're hoping the rest of the world opens to them soon. Supported by a devoted cult following Stateside, Jacob Fred is ready to tickle some new ears.
****************************************************************************************************************

"JFJO - a band unwilling to compromise their creativity for the mainstream ear - has developed a constantly evolving sound unlike virtually anything on today's market." - Jambase

"You cats are pushing jazz forward in a brand new direction. Thank you."
- Jazz Legend Cecil Taylor after listening to JFJO for 3 hours

"It swings, it sways, but the jazz trio form in their hands has an almost primitive, inside-your-head, idiosyncratic quality to it that suggests the three are truly one."
- Downbeat

"Within this realm of jazz, the group speaks a language with its music, both as individual players and collectively, that cripples the feeble descriptives of the written word." -RELIX Magazine

Are You a Change Artist?

<a href="http://people.tribe.net/marlamobius/blog/6bf3251b-ce4c-41dc-a806-83b90091e8a2"> <img class=" picThumb" src="http://images.tribe.net/tribe/upload/photo/347/df2/347df211-30e8-4a00-9767-548acf65b6bc.thumb" width="55" height="78" alt="" />
    </a>
<div>The biggest changes for the better are almost never the result of big events. I’m convinced that the biggest and best changes in our lives happen because of small changes that result when individuals take one small step forward. The side effects of small steps forward is that everything around that step responds to it, and all of that adds up to some big big (positive) changes for the better.

And I call people who actively seek that next small step forward, ‘Change Artists.’

It doesn’t matter what the arena is. It doesn’t matter what the interest is. It doesn’t even matter what the problem is.

What matters is, where do you want to go, and what is one small step forward that you can take in order to get there. To create positive change. And the beauty of life is there is always a next step. How is it possible to find that small step forward? Well, change artists do it by asking themselves ‘What if? and ‘What, then?’ questions.
Change artists start with the really big What If’s, and work their way back to the details of their own lives. For example:

    * What if the only way we experience happiness in life is when we are making a positive difference, actively making our world better in some small way? What then is the small way in which I can make a difference today?
    * What if we are actually designed to change our world for the better? What if the only way our relationships can really thrive is if we are changing them for the better?
    * What, then is the next step in making my relationships better today? What if the future depends on this?
    * What if the only hope humanity has to survive depends on individuals like myself finding the next small step forward towards a better future for myself and the people I care about?
    * What, then, is my next small step towards a better future?

What if anything is possible, and all that’s required of any of us is to be true to ourselves and find our next small step forward? What, then, is my next step forward in my life?
What if it’s possible that I’m in the best possible position to influence this outcome? What, then, is the next step towards making that happen?

- What if I can find that next small step? What, then is the next step towards making that happen?

- What if I can change anything for the better, because everything is possible to the person who takes the initiative? What, then, do I want to change for the better? What, then, is my next small step?

Have a wonderful weekend. I wish you many small changes!

Craig Wright's Cast of Clowns with Melvin Seals, Greg Anton, Jeff Pevar
Saturday April 5th, 2008 - 9:00pm
$15 adv. /$20 DOS

Jeff Pevar has been the go-to guitarist for a list of acts too long to list...examples include Ray Charles, Crosby Stills and Nash, and Phil and Friends.

Greg Anton founded The Heart of Gold Band with Keith and Donna Godcheaux of The Grateful Dead and Steve Kimock. This band morphed into Zero, a band which featured many legendary players such as John Cippolina and Martin Fierro, and the songs of Anton and Grateful Dead lyricist, Robert Hunter.

Melvin Seals has played with many acts including Elvin Bishop, but he might be best known for his extensive soulful work with Jerry Garcia in The Jerry Garcia Band.

Craig Wright has played in various acts featuring these gentlemen as well as his own Elijah, HorseFeathers and Analog Kabin. He recently published a book of stories, "Redemption Center." Michael St. John, or "MJ," brings world-class touring experience though his work with bands like Lost at Last.

Featuring new originals by Robert Hunter (Grateful Dead) and Craig Wright, old Jerry Garcia Band and Zero favs, and and some surprises along the way, the band is super inspired due to the recent passing of Brother Martin Fierro and is dedicating this run of shows to The Meester.

California Guitar Trio
Tuesday, April 8th, 2008 - 8:00pm
$18 adv/ $22 DOS

"Pioneers of the New Acoustic Age...Worlds Best Acoustic Band" - Guitar Shop Magazine.
"Winning, energetic and highly accessible..." - Los Angeles Times

"A California Guitar Trio performance is like a night at the theater: Drama, passion, humor, joy, pathos, it's all there." - Acoustic Musician Magazine

"Energetic. Eclectic. Frenetic. Dynamic. Guitar music has never sounded quite like this before." - Desert News

With a whirlwind of instrumental styles fusing classical, rock, blues, jazz, world music, progressive, as well as the quintessential California musical genre surf music, the California Guitar Trio's stunning virtuosity and sly sense of humor have earned them an enthusiastic following and wide notoriety, with significant crossover in the progressive, acoustic and classical music scenes.

Notably, CGT music was featured on the television coverage of the 1998, 2000, 2002 and 2004 Olympics, and also on CBS, NBC, CNN, and ESPN TV programs. The CGT performed on the 2003 Grammy Awards nominated track Apollo on Tony Levin's CD Pieces of the Sun; and CGT music was sent into outer space as wake up music for the crew aboard NASA's Space Shuttle Endeavor.

Over the past 14 years of nearly incessant touring, the California Guitar Trio has shared the stage with superb musicians and performers such as: King Crimson, Jon Anderson, Rick Wakeman, John McLaughlin, John Scofield, Tito Puente, Taj Mahal, Peter Rowan and Tony Rice, Dark Star Orchestra, Leftover Salmon, Sleepytime Gorilla Museum, Steve Lukather, Simon Phillips, David Sylvian, Adrian Legg, Kaki King, Monte Montgomery, Jake Shimabukuro and many more.

Paul Richards of Salt Lake City, Utah, Bert Lams of Brussels, Belgium, and Hideyo Moriya of Tokyo first met in England at one of Robert Fripp's Guitar Craft Courses in 1987. After completing several of these intensive courses, the three toured worldwide with Fripp's League of Crafty Guitarists. Wanting to continue working together after the League had run its course, Bert, Paul and Hideyo convened in Los Angeles and founded The California Guitar Trio in 1991, honing their intricate original compositions, surf covers, and classical re-workings.

Since their inception in 1991, the Trio has released 12 CDs: six studio CDs featuring original works from the CGT and a variety of classics such as Bach's "Toccata and Fugue" and Beethoven's 5th Symphony. Four live releases that show the trio at their best onstage, and a Christmas CD with familiar and not-so familiar Christmas music, which continues to receive rave reviews.

In February of 2007, the CGT released Highlights, a brilliant musical anthology that showcases a career's worth of flow and versatility. Each piece resonates with it's own story, and each story contributes to the CGT's 15-year journey of creative exploration, collaboration, and commitment to their craft.

<div>Mobius Live at 140 Lithia Way in Ashland, Oregon presents:

Asylum Street Spankers
Sunday March 30th, 2008 - 8:00pm
$15 adv. $18 at the door

"A whimsical collision between ragtime, jazz, vaudeville, blues, hip hop swagger, country and western... one of the single best live acts you will ever see!" Strong Week Portland

The magnificently indefinable Asylum Street Spankers began in 1994 at a party at the Dabbs Hotel in Llano, Texas. There Christina Marrs and Guy Forsyth met Wammo. During a night spent singing and playing along the banks of the Llano River they made a pact to keep the all-night-sing-along-anything-goes spirit of that party alive. Upon returning to Austin they gathered a few like-minded pals and began playing free shows at clubs and busking on the Guadalupe Street Drag. (Guadalupe was known as Asylum Street because it led to the state, um, hospital. A Spanker is someone who can play their instrument vigorously and proficiently.)

Within a year they conquered Austin, playing three SRO weekly residencies, including the city’s original Gospel Brunch at La Zona Rosa. With the departure of Forsyth in 1998 the band began venturing out into the wider world. Since then, Christina and Wammo have pushed their ever-evolving troupe from simple country-blues revivalism toward smart, challenging music of boundless variety, sophisticated arrangements, stunning showmanship and determined inventiveness.

<div>Drew Emmit Band (formerly of Leftover Salmon)

03/10/2008 - 8:00pm - $15
If anything good has come of the breakup of Leftover Salmon, it is that the inestimable talents of mandolinist, vocalist and songwriter Drew Emmitt are not longer hidden within the force of nature that was LoS. Now on full display within a newgrass format, Emmitt's power and range as a vocalist, his speed and precision as a picker, his tasteful songwriting and song selection shine on this superb collection, all aided and abetted by some of the biggest names in Grass. - T.L.

Drew Emmitt, the dynamic lead singer and mandolin player with the popular jamband Leftover Salmon, is a true renaissance man on musical instruments. Playing mandolin, acoustic and electric guitar, he's a string man to be reckoned with. He excels in unique energy driven mandolin licks and his influences include a pantheon of musical heroes including Lowell George, Steve Morse, Duane Allman, John Cowan, Bill Monroe, Sam Bush, Hot Rize and New Grass Revival.

"I started playing when I lived in Nashville, TN where everybody played music. Then we moved to Boulder and there were a lot of really influential musicians floating in and out. I started going out to see bands like Hot Rize and really getting into bluegrass."

In 1984, Drew Emmitt founded the progressive bluegrass ensemble, The Left Hand String Band. Six years later, Vince Herman's serendipitous scramble for musicians to fill in a gig with his band, SalmonHeads, yeilded a glorious amalgam: Leftover Salmon. Jambands.com said "Emmitt's mandolin prowess and songwriting gifts are two particular sources of the group's success." Emmitt is an extremely gifted musician and songwriter and one can't help but being swept away by his incredibly pure voice. On his debut solo release, Freedom Ride, Emmitt reveals once again his amazing picking abilities and songwriting talents. He recruited some of the hottest acoustic musicians around to join him; John Cowan and the John Cowan Band (Jeff Autrey, Luke Bulla, Scott Vestal, Pasi Leppikangas), Peter Rowan, Sam Bush, Ronnie McCoury, Vassar Clements, Stuart Duncan, Randy Scruggs, Vince Hermann &amp; Greg Garrison from Leftover Salmon and more. The result is the most exciting newgrass album to come down the pike since the original New Grass Revival.

Emmitt has composed innumerable tunes, many of which have worked their way into the wild and diverse Leftover Salmon repertoire. His pure voice and heartfelt lyrics have become a signature of the band. He has also pioneered techniques for taking the mandolin into new territory by using combinations of overdrive, slides and foot pedals to emulate the sound of steel drums and electric slide guitar.

Emmitt's dedication and love for music have helped him become one of our nation's top mandolin players. Beyond his own success, Emmitt has remained a fan as well. On joining his biggest influences on stage he said, "It's amazing. It's like walking in a dream. For years I had this dream of standing on stage next to them and having a good time. And it's happened. Standing on stage next to Sam (Bush) is pretty indescribable. And David (Grisman) as well. When Neil Young walked on stage, that was outrageous. I turned around, and there he was standing 6 inches away from me. I looked right at his eyes. Then having him actually sing on a song that I wrote? Pretty amazing."

The Boulder based quintet of Leftover Salmon has been a force in the Colorado music scene for over a decade. With Freedom Ride, Drew Emmitt is becoming a force to be reckoned with himself.

The Nation Beat
03/11/2008 - 8:00pm - $8
New York City perseveres as an incredible musical melting pot reining in artistic influences from all across the globe. Accompanying the surging amalgamation of diverse genres, cultures and rhythms, Nation Beat introduces an unprecedented mix of northeastern Brazil's maracatu and the sounds of the deep American South. Nation Beat artistic director/founder Scott Kettner, a graduate of The New School University (NYC) and a 2006 Latin Jazz Ambassador, follows the path of such Brazilian luminaries as Lenine and Chico Science, offering yet another anomalous contemporary interpretation of the traditional 19th century Pernembuco-born rhythm.

At the heart of Nation Beat lies the mergence of maracatu with New Orleans second line rhythms, Appalachian-inspired bluegrass music, funk, rock, and country-blues. As illustrated on their debut album, Maracatuniversal, Nation Beat parades with an indispensable audacious energy, and seamlessly bridges folkloric Brazilian rhythms with classic American roots music. As of late, rising Brazilian star Liliana Araujo fronts the ensemble with her soaring powerhouse vocals. A recent finalist on Brazil's "American Idol" spin-off program FAMA (Rede Globo), Liliana Araujo is already garnering comparisons to the great Virginia Rodriguez. Rolling Stone Brazil (June 2007) ran a photo of Liliana Araujo when the publication listed Nation Beat's "Old Wooden Chair" as the 1 track on their Hot List. Their explosive live show will certainly attract music fans from a wide demographic; Brazilian music lovers, folks who love to dance, Americana concertgoers and outdoor festival types.

Nation Beat distinctly embodies a flourishing cultural exchange between the favelas of Pernambuco and the boroughs of New York City. In 2001, upon Scott Kettner's initial visit to Recife, he auspiciously met master maracatu percussionist Jorge Martins. A 2004 Latin Grammy nominee (w/ his group Cascabulho), the founder of the downtown Recife percussion school Corpos Percussivos, and a member of one of the oldest existing traditional maracatu groups Estrela Brihante (est. 1906), Jorge Martins unabashedly educated Kettner in maracatu. After several years of extensive study, Martins invited him to join Estrela Brihante. Together, they observed the striking similarities between the music of the favelas and the rhythms of New Orleans second line. It sparked an unruly enthusiasm to bring maracatu to NYC classrooms and in return, to have stateside percussion students travel to Recife.

In 2003, Kettner launched Maracatu New York and Nation Beat. The Brooklyn Arts Council awarded him two grants for inaugurating these projects. The funding afforded Jorge Martins the opportunity to lead maracatu classes in NYC, and directly benefited the kids studying at Corpos Percussivos. With over 40 students currently enrolled in Maracatu New York, the arts company celebrates its 5-year anniversary this year.

Just as Paul Simon enlisted the thunderous, soul-shaking sounds of olodum for The Rhythm Of The Saints, Nation Beat traveled to Recife in 2005 becoming the first contemporary group in the world to record with a traditional maracatu group. Jorge Martins and Estrela Brihante appear alongside Nation Beat on Maracatuniversal. That same year, Kettner also brought 15 U.S. based percussion students to perform with Corpos Percussivos, marking the first American maracatu group to march in Carnival.

The abiding cultural connection initiated by Kettner and Martins caught the attention of New York City-based independent record label, Modiba Productions. Along with their humanitarian relief efforts in Darfur, work with Malian star Vieux Farka Toure and overall commitment to the social and economic empowerment of select international communities, Modiba re-polishes and re-releases Maracatuniversal and is scheduled to put out their much-anticipated sophomore recording effort featuring 2007 Grammy Award winners The Klezmatics in June 2008. 10% of the proceeds from Maracatuniversal goes directly to Estrela Brihante for the development and preservation of arts and culture in Recife, Brazil.

Gamelan X
02/29/2008 - 8:00pm • $10 adv/St, $12 DOS

Gamelan X, an ensemble from Oakland, CA, draws its inspirations from Indonesian, Balkan, African and American music traditions. Their dynamic sound is a unique hybrid of instrumentation and style stretches beyond what is normally considered “world music”. Call it a Bali-Bass Groove Ritual.

The musicians perform on a customized set of bronze gongs which range in size and pitch, from 4”-36”. For live shows, Gamelan X uses synth-bass, a live drum kit, brass, strings, African percussion, group choreography and vocal crowd interaction to engage listeners and dancers with a visceral groove experience.

The group is also known for performing Beleganjur, a traditional Balinese all-acoustic marching gamelan used for funeral and cremation ceremonies. (Burning Man has been the key venue for the group’s performance abilities to flourish and Gamelan X has participated in its closing ceremonies since 2003). The integration of both the Balinese and American music styles offers not only the audience, but also the group’s members a truly unique experience not widely explored in this part of the world.

Gamelan X evolved out of a 35-member performance collective known as the One People Voice Company. Formed in 2003 with the intention of exploring traditional Balinese music and theatre from an American perspective, OPVC accomplished its goal of playing at the Bali Arts Festival in 2005, as well as a performance at the Jogjakarta Gamelan Festival in Java. After a series of American dates, OPVC shifted its creative focus from large theatrical productions to music concerts. In 2006, the name Gamelan X was chosen to reflect these changes.

Scheduled for early 2008 is their debut studio album SATU (which means "one" in the Indonesian language) for Earthville Records. This wildly eclectic 67-minute sound-world odyssey showcases the band’s ability to take the intensity of their live shows, and translate that energy into the subtler studio environment.

SHIMSHAI, featuring MJ Greenmountain (Hamsa Lila)
03/01/2008 - 8:00pm • $15 adv/ $18 door

Whether singing the ancient Sanskrit mantras of India, the traditional folklore songs of South America, or performing his original works of divine inspiration, Shimshai’s music invokes a sentiment of ancestral devotion and a dedication to higher consciousness. A self-proclaimed seeker of truth, described by many as possessing the voice of an angel, Shimshai is gifted with the innate ability to deliver his message flawlessly in several languages; most profoundly the universal language of Love and Oneness.

Surrounded by music from birth and formally trained on piano in his native state of Washington, today Shimshai performs effortlessly on guitar, sitar, flute, and a variety of woodwinds. He plays many of the instruments on his self-composed and self-produced albums, ‘I sense your Presence’ (2001), ‘Toward the One’ (2003/2006), and ‘Live on Maui’ (2003/2006) all which have been highly revered by the worldwide spiritual community. His collaboration with fellow artist Tina Malia, ‘Jaya Bhagavan’ (2004), has also been met with tremendous success, being signed to the independent record label Spirit Voyage in 2005, and his most recent release, ‘Deliverance’ (2006), showcases his abilities as a solo performer. He continues to offer his talents to various studio projects, including current collaborations with traditional healers and several undertakings with indigenous communities throughout south and Latin America.

Whether playing at large festivals, yoga studios, or spiritual retreats, Shimshai’s live performances throughout the Hawaiian Islands, Europe, Australia, Mexico and The Americas have helped to create a devoted and ever-growing global fan base. His unique blend of reggae, jazz, kirtan, and folk, infused with a worldbeat influence, provides a diverse palette of musical expression and attracts a wide range of listeners. Performing solo or with his group, The Natural MystiquEnsemble, which features percussion, guitar accompaniment, and harmony vocals, Shimshai’s energy always provides a sacred, intimate, heart-opening space for all who are present. Along the way, Shimshai has had the honor of opening for and sharing the stage with such luminaries as Michael Franti, David Grisman, Mickey Hart, Jai Uttal, Ram Dass, Deepak Chopra, Bhagavan Das, Dezarie &amp; members of midnite, jah levi, Hamsa Lila, Sasha Butterfly, and many other gifted musicians and visionaries.

To experience the essence of this young mystic is to be taken down a musical journey that ultimately leads us back to the very core of our own inner existence. Shimshai, translated as ¨My Sun¨ in Hebrew is indeed “una estrella brillante” whose heartfelt expression, natural grace, and impeccable intention shall continue to inspire and manifest positive vibrations for generations to come.

Since forming in October of 2004, Disco Organica (or, DO for short) has gigged relentlessly at home in Eugene, Oregon and on the North and Southwest tour circuits.

DO plays positive music drawing from a range of influences - a fusion of trip-hop, jazz, funk, soul, blues, drum'n'bass, and R&amp;B. Always up for exploring grooves and improvising, DO's tunes meld genres and span styles from mellow, down-tempo jazz numbers to energetic schizo-funk, that is sometimes aggressive and always danceable.

DO's "something for everyone" approach makes use of the smoky, alluring vocals of singer Erin Flood, and the soulful, sexy, falsetto of guitar-player Brad Erichsen, set to a backdrop of blues, jazz and R&amp;B arrangements.

At the end of the night, sophisticated music lovers and dance-hungry partygoers have all found something to love about Disco Organica. We hope you will too.

You can purchase SoulFrog, the first full-length album, at CDBaby. Hear more tunes at discoorganica.com and look for the new album later this year.

Thank you for checking out and supporting the music! We look forward to seeing you at the next show!

The Mother Truckers are an irreverent, harmony driven Country band from Austin, Texas. They deliver authentic Country, featuring non-traditional lyrics and blazing guitars. From sin to redemption and heartbreak to salvation. The Mother Truckers tell original tales with their powerful blend of pristine vocals mixed with the razors edge of rockin? Country. The core of the group is the singing/songwriting team of Josh Zee and Teal Collins.

Josh and Teal met at a local Blues Jam in San Rafael, California, and would have a lasting musical relationship for years. In July 2000, they both decided to focus their energies on what would become The Mother Truckers. After playing around San Francisco and touring California for several years, Their journeys led them to the "Live Music Capitol of the World" - Austin, TX. Where they recruited an ace rhythm section consisting of Pete "THE BEAT" Langhans, on drums and Leslie McCurdy On Bass. They have been playing almost constantly in all the Texas hotspots, and have recorded a new CD ,"Broke, Not Broken". The new CD has been added to KGSR, KRSH &amp; KPIG Freedom Radio.

MOBIUS and EQ.TV are very happy to report that we have moved DOWNTOWN! We have begun operating out of the event space formerly occupied by Mojo Rising at 140 Lithia Way in Ashland.

It has been a very fast transition! Equilibrium will be Ashland's newest hot spot, bringing you incredible local and international musicians, DJ nights, evolving culture, with live webcasting on EQ.TV and video and audio recording.

We are letting go of our 4th St. location of over 5 years. It is a space we have all loved but it has had issues with occupancy and permitting. This new downtown space has served as an event center, concert hall, restaurant and bar in the past and will continue to evolve under the Mobius and EQ.TV management.

This is the beginning of a new era in Art and Community for our region!

Your support is what makes it all possible! Please visit www.EQ.TV and www.mobiuslive.com for more info and upcoming events.

    </a>
										<div>Mobius Moves Downtown

The end of an era, and the beginning of a new one.

After several years of world-class concerts, poetry slams, parties and fun, the Mobius in Ashland is closing its doors. “We love this room, but it is time for us to expand and take it to the next level,” says production manager, Marla Welp. “We are very pleased to announce that we are moving into the Mojo Rising studio, now to be known as Equilibrium, at 140 Lithia Way in downtown Ashland.”

Many will fondly remember the Mobius as the scene of fabulous intimate concerts and parties, but there was much more going on behind the scenes. EQ Media, which comprised the team behind Mobius, has been hard at work developing the Equilibrium Project, the goal of which is to use entertainment as fuel to inspire a rapid transition to sustainability.

Equilibrium will continue on in Mobius’ place as an important component of the Equilibrium Project, with a state-of-the-art multi-media production facility and internet-television broadcast studio, as well as serving as a live music venue and nightclub. Our first show in the new space will be Grupo Fantasma from Austin, TX on Monday February 18th. “They’re the best band in Austin” confesses Austin Chronicle and Village Voice music critic Jim Caliguiri as Fantasma takes home its sixth straight ‘Best Latin Band’ title at this years’ Austin Music Awards. “The only other band I’ve seen get that kind of audience reaction was the Ramones…with all of their releases the band has become even more adventurous, mixing styles in ways that are unexpected but ruled by the groove. This group of enthusiastic youngsters has grown into a monstrous and masterful ensemble that has sold more than 20,000 discs independently. Their chops and confidence continue to grow but the raw, boisterous attitude remains. The band successfully obliterates the clichés that often plague the current Latin music market, all the while keeping their feet firmly planted in the traditions that they love and deeply respect.” The show is at 8:00pm and costs $12 in advance/$15 at the door.

Mobius Live digitally immortalized moments when the raw energy driving the music shattered the bounds of audience and performer, to become that transcendent experience that can only be created in a live show. Many magical evenings at the Mobius have been recorded and will be made available by EQ.TV. In fact, you can go to EQ.TV now and view clips from past Mobius Live shows by clicking on the Watch EQ.TV tab.

“Our goal is to develop Equilibrium into an unmatched experience where visitors take in world-class music while participating as the live studio audience for the global broadcast. There isn’t any other business that offers this kind of service to our community. And the best part is, even if you’re not able to get down on the dance floor, you can still cut loose in the comfort of your own home by watching the webcast on EQ.TV. Personally, I’m just grateful be part of it” says co-founder Jason Gallagher.

One facet of the Equilibrium Project is EQ Connect, a social networking site (like tribe or myspace) that supports a growing community of people who are passionate about ecological and economic sustainability (and music!). You can blog, post music, video or photos, and create groups to discuss topics of common interest.

Another facet is EQ Media’s sister organization the Equilibrium Institute (EQ.I), which receives 33% of all profits generated by the activities of EQ Media. EQ.I is a nonprofit 501©3 that is dedicated to economic and ecological sustainability. The Equilibrium Institute’s mission is three-fold: to perform ecological restoration, to stimulate green economic development, and to serve as a globally accessible institute for sustainability education. EQ.I accomplishes these objectives through its sustainability projects, overseeing the restoration and redevelopment of misused urban properties, infrastructures, and open spaces. These projects contribute to sustainable economic growth by employing products and services of green businesses and organizations, while providing students with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience working in apprenticeships with leading sustainability specialists. Through EQ.I’s partnership with EQ.TV, each project is also filmed and broadcast on the internet as inspiring educational programs.

The third facet of the Equilibrium Project is EQ Bazaar, an E-Commerce site featuring digital media downloads and sustainable lifestyle products &amp; services. EQ Bazaar’s grand unveiling is coming soon.

We invite you to participate in the EQ Project. Come check out Equilibrium at 140 Lithia Way in Ashland, join EQ Connect, invite your community, network and have fun, set up a store in the EQ Bazaar, or hire EQ Media to help you tell your story. However you participate, you will be contributing to the transition to a thriving culture of sustainability.

DO NOT MISS THIS LATIN ORCHESTRA!!!!!

Grupo Fantasma
02/18/2008 - 8:00pm
$12adv/$15dos

Undoubtedly the finest and funkiest latin orchestra to come out of the United States in the last decade…here's an update:

As Grupo Fantasma prepares for a busy fall packed with festival and club dates, the Latin collective is still riding the momentum from their critically acclaimed performances with Prince in London this past August, their first trip overseas and in front of 20,000 people. The band's relationship with the legendary artist began with a two month Thursday night stint at the musical giant's Las Vegas nightclub 3121 and a hip-shaking performance at his mega-celeb filled Golden Globes after party where the band was joined on stage by Mary J. Blige, Mark Anthony, and will.i.am of the Black Eyed Peas. Fantasma opened for Prince in front of 8,000 fans in Miami, Florida and served as his backup band at several high profile events including the CBS Superbowl Bash in South Beach, the ALMA Awards (airing on national television), and an exclusive private party in their hometown of Austin, TX. "He's put a lot of faith in us" says Grupo guitarist and co-founder Adrian Quesada in a recent magazine interview. "He's telling us that what we're doing is right." And now with the support of a new friend and advocate, Prince, it looks like the Latin powerhouse is set to expand their horizons. Quite an endorsement for a band that is set to play close to 150 dates this year.

"They're the best band in Austin" confesses Austin Chronicle and Village Voice music critic Jim Caliguiri as Fantasma takes home its sixth straight ‘Best Latin Band' title at this years' Austin Music Awards. "The only other band I've seen get that kind of audience reaction was the Ramones…with all of their releases the band has become even more adventurous, mixing styles in ways that are unexpected but ruled by the groove. This group of enthusiastic youngsters has grown into a monstrous and masterful ensemble that has sold more than 20,000 discs independently. Their chops and confidence continue to grow but the raw, boisterous attitude remains. The band successfully obliterates the clichés that often plague the current Latin music market, all the while keeping their feet firmly planted in the traditions that they love and deeply respect."

A Brazilian Valentine's Day Party with Bat Makumba

<a href="http://people.tribe.net/marlamobius/blog/ef922298-333e-4ac3-9e09-05c56be41981"> <img class=" picThumb" src="http://images.tribe.net/tribe/upload/photo/4f2/dee/4f2deea2-286d-4dde-9042-13b07eeca63c.thumb" width="65" height="48" alt="" />
    </a>
<div>Don't miss the last party we will have at the Mobius. That's right, it's the end of an era my friends. We are moving into the Mojo Rising studios at 140 Lithia Way, in Ashland. We are moving this weekend! (send me a line if you'd like to help out...) I &amp;lt;still> Love You (the party) is being held at Mojo Rising on Friday and the Southern Oregon Bellydance show will be at the Armory on Saturday. After that all of our shows will be downtown in the space soon to be known as Equilibrium.

Tonight, (Valentine's Day) at the Mobius:

The brainchild of Brazilian natives Alex Koberle and Emiliano Benevides and Americano bassist Carl Remde, Bat Makumba is the crossroads between the traditional music of their equatorial homeland and the punk, rock and funk influences of the US and UK. Locals to San Francisco, Bat Makumba's show is a hip renegade carnaval party full of tropicalia tinged ska, punk influenced forro, and rock infused samba.

Since forming in 2000 Bat Makumba has garnered critical acclaim and a dedicated fan base throughout the West Coast. Winners of a 2004 California Music Award for Outstanding Latin Alternative Album, Bat Makumba have been hailed by the San Francisco Chronicle as one of Five Latin Bands to Watch, nominated for two SF Weekly Music Awards as Best World Band, and their debut album was named one of the Best Records of 2003 by the East Bay Express.

Incorporating the varied influences of horn player David Gibbs, keyboardist/guitarist Jon Axtell and drummer Aaron Kierbel, Bat Makumba's live show brings together an international palette of musicians and instrumentation (including accordion, zabumba, megaphone, clarinet and alfaia). Named after the 70s classic Tropicalia song by Caetano Veloso + Gilberto Gil (popularized by Os Mutantes), "Bat Makumba" loosely translates to mean the mixing of Brazilian traditionalism with international pop culture.

Don't miss this kinetic, percussive sound... join the renegade carnaval party that is Bat Makumba!

Thank you!

										<div>I'm trying.
i really am.
trying to hunker down and focus
on one
thing
at a time
i'm trying to be productive in the face of....of what i don't know.
the undertow of empirical collapse i suppose.
but its much more than that.
i'm trying to laugh deep and loud at any laughable opportunity
keep my eyes on the horizon while storing away tidbits of hope.
bits and pieces might build a ship that'll sing along the surface.
all around me my friends are treading water.
my mother is treading water.
my siblings scrambling without sleep to make ends meet.
sometimes sinking then flailing around
with that stubborn need to
breathe
to expand against the prevailing force.
overextending the quelling of panic cuz panic does no good.
it uses up precious energy and air.
air that could be saving lives
air that could be
laughter sometimes forced upon tears because it feels different than grief.
doesn't weigh as much.
air that could be singing
"a working class hero is something to be
a working class hero is something to be..."
could be singing it over

could be singing called a shout
in this battle to remain at all optimistic
about our lives in the changing of suns
amidst the crumbling ravenous flailing of war soaked humanity
i touch base with other struggles
and try to absorb it without sinking.
try to shake off the weight without losing the love.
throw love toward the horizon
a rope to hold tight to
and stay up here with the oxygen
laughing and shouting a song.

    </a>
										<div>Eric McFadden Trio
SATURDAY 02/02/2008 - 9:00pm
$12 adv/$15DOS

Eric McFadden may just be one of the hardest working performers in the business. Fresh off a European tour with Eric Burdon and the New Animals, McFadden returns to the states and hits the ground running. He will finish out the spring on the road with the Eric McFadden Trio in support of their new album, Joy of Suffering.

The Eric McFadden Trio features McFadden on guitar and vocals and James Whiton on the acoustic bass along side drummer Jeff Cohen a long-time friend and musical compatriot - this dynamic line-up is the latest incarnation for one of music's most prolific personalities. In addition to being in several successful bands on the west coast, McFadden has independently produced several solo albums which are regarded as underground masterpieces by fans and critics alike.

McFadden's raspy baritone and impressive guitar chops have made him a perennial favorite among his peers. Throughout his long career, he has shared the stage with such luminaries as Bo Diddley, Keb Mo', Living Colour, Les Claypool, Carla Bozulich, Widespread Panic, Stockholm Syndrome, the Reverend Horton Heat, and Clash front man Joe Strummer, amongst many others. George Clinton was so impressed with McFadden that he recruited him as a touring member of the P-Funk All Stars, and his guitar work can be heard on their latest album.

"In James Whiton, McFadden has found his ideal musical foil. A virtuoso of acoustic upright double bass, Whiton slaps, bows, maneuvers, and manipulates his instrument with orchestral precision and street corner desperation, reflecting the sinister world of desert derelicts and carnival cons who have so long proliferated in McFadden's songs."

"We are proud to also announce that while on this tour we will be traveling in our newly converted veggie-oil RV. Yes, we converted our Diesel guzzling rig into a low impact, environmentally-friendly, cross-country touring machine!

As you know the earth needs all the help we can give it and we encourage everyone to do their part in giving back to our planet. Any small endeavor counts. Be it recycling, using less energy, buying organic products and so on.

As we traverse the country we will be meeting with organic farmers, food co-ops and like minded folks that will be assisting our endeavors in using only the best organic consumables on our tour.

That means no more fast food nation for us! So please, if you are at one of our shows, visit our merch table to obtain more information on some organic resources in your town. We need to keep these people in business! It's good for our health and good for the planet.

Should you feel so inclined to support us in any way, you can email our man Chris at: contact@wovenmusic.com and he can provide you with different ways to help spread the word about our tour. We look forward to sharing our music meeting with you. Let's all pitch in to give back to Mutha Erff. You'll be happy you did and so will she!" :)

More about WOVEN:

In 2001, with the release of its debut EP titled EPrime (Interscope), the Los Angeles group Woven set out to pave new roads with their signature aesthetic blend of organic and synthetic elements. Exploring the spectrum of electronic and rock influences, the music travels a path from guitar-driven drum and bass to syncopated, sparse IDM, ending in a dark and brooding dreamstate.

Woven is a unique group of individuals devoted to taking listeners on astral and emotional sonic journeys. In 2003, the band released their second endeavor with Interscope Records, 8 Bit Monk, a wildly imaginative odyssey through the cosmos of soft, glitchy static and melodic rock harmony. Looking to achieve a dynamic mix similar to their debut, EPrime, they re-enlisted the London-based mixing genius, Stephen Fitzmaurice, who honed his mixing skills with such acts as Depeche Mode, U2, Fischerspooner, Seal and Magnet. With the band drawing from such diverse influences as Bjork, Aphex Twin, Pink Floyd, Portishead and Deftones among others, they created otherworldly songbeds for listeners to lie in and ponder life's moody side.

Such haunting moods would land two of 8 Bit Monk's songs, "My Conditioning" and "Soul Fossa", on the hit CBS show, CSI : Crime Scene Investigation. Continuing to attract attention from listeners and the media, Woven was one of the first featured artists on iTunes' front page, receiving enough downloads to prompt iTunes to extend the bands coverage an additional two weeks. In support of 8 Bit Monk the group performed live sets on L.A.'s KXLU 88.9 and also for AOL's Sessions which aired on KCRW's "New Ground" with Chris Douridas and have gotten positive nods from Spin Magazine and RollingStone.com.

Woven guitarist Steve Abagon performed at the very first Coachella festival as the guitarist for Perry Farrell's post Jane's Addiction solo endeavor, and recently contributed guitar tracks for folk-rock veteran Rickie Lee Jones.
Ory Hodis, Woven's vocalist/guitarist, also played guitar on Perry Farrells 2001 solo electronica record, Song Yet To be Sung (Virgin).

The Reverend Peyton's Big Damn Band: There ain't no drawn out electric solos here. No broke down jukebox covers and no worn-out wayfarer sunglasses. There ain't no formal bass and there sure as hell won't be any Stevie. No, that just ain't gonna work around here. But there will be the chatter of a well-worn washboard. And a 30s era dobro slidin' and cuttin' on through the night. Now and again there'll be the sweet sound of a gorgeous old Gibson dancing its way through a little finger-style tune. And that beat. Oh that beat! Now there will most certainly be a beat. There'll be a beat so infectious it'll cut right through to your soul and leave you wondering what hit you for days. Yes, you're fixin' to hear some of the most authentic roots blues this side of 1929 from none other than The Reverend Peytons Big Damn Band.

PATER FAMILIAS: The Pater Familias could be described as five psychotically intelligent explosions occurring simultaneously in a single instant of beauty. They could also be called five white kids from Bend, Oregon. This electric quintet forms a strangely pleasing brew of funky harmony and a controlled eruption of emotional cacophony. The variety of sounds causes no barriers in the bands ability to attain such immense auditory proportions that it reaches into the deepest and most inner regions of life, and indeed the cosmos. A melodic beast of 100% organic reverberation has been unleashed into this world. It brings the feeling of family to mind. Enjoy all, and squander nothing; a family survives and grows... billions and billions.</div>
