Irrational Anthems

I miss San Francisco already :(

Tonight I embark on my 2-week trip back home to Richmond, VA (or as I affectionately call it, my Confederate Exile), and already I'm feeling the loss.

While in many ways I'm looking forward to it more than I ever did before, I'm also looking forward to it less than ever... strange, huh?

One good thing is that this will be the first time I go back, and meet & hang out with people that I didn't know when I lived there... it will be a chance to see the city more objectively than I ever had before.

I'm missing the anti-war protests on the 18th, but I get to see my young niece sing in a choir recital instead. Hell, I've been doing the anti-war thing for 3 year years now, at least this time I'll be pro-peace; there's nothing more peaceful than girls singing.

I'll have limited internet, limited email, limited everything... and I am going to miss you ALL!!!!!!

see ya on the 31st! :D

They have internet out there? I thought you could only communicate with the west coast via smoke signals from there?
Thu, March 16, 2006 - 2:24 PM
Or smoke signals???I heard that is the fastest way the East coast connects daily with the West .....hehehe

I was delighted to discover that Richmond has a thriving Burner community now.. that should go a long way towards offsetting the effects of my liberal-hatin' friends and family :D

Sweet Home Virginia...
ah it's good to see how the people here in the East live. Heck if you get mad at W just drive an hour north to DC!

Spicy noodle soup at the Thai Diner on Broad...
...is the only reason to go back to Richmond. Ummm and maybe Mama Zu's in Orgegon Hill.

Tell everyone I said hi.

oh, I almost panicked for a second there. I read it as a "going home, going to miss you" for good kinda blog. I had my phone in hand ready to call the intervention. Then I caught the "see you on the 31st" and was able to exhale again. whew!

mriow love, do have fun. Take it as an opportunity to shake'em a lil.

dude I know you're busy tonight, but we're having one hell of a lil shin-dig, which I'm sure you know is rare round here. I'm still not sure what's up for the rest of the weekend but if there's anything going on maybe we can send off some smoke signals to the west coast or something. I know there's supposed to be a pretty big brewha going on next weekend on the 24th.
