I'm not who I am. I like the idea of a lot of cool stuff I don't really have time to be. My concept of me is bohemian but the truth is I have a very corporate kind of job where I make a lot of money and spend way too much time and my background is probably more working class or cowboy than I realize. The VW Bus driving drifter photographer I wanted to be never happened. Along the way I was a bike messenger, a legal secretary, but I came to rest as a house owninng SUV driving professional manager doing everything I can to be somebody else a couple days a week. Somehow I want to break free and become the guy I always wanted to be before it's too late. I grew up in Portland. My grandmother was born in Oregon (in my adopted family). My biologicall mother grew up in Pendleton but was born in Alabama. If I hear one more uber cool creative class hipster who just moved here say 'I love it in Portland'....I'll scream (screaming right now) 'cause these guys have no idea what this city is all about, what this state is all about outside the enclaves of cool. Make the long drive to Falls City, Oregon someday. That's the real Oregon. I am someone who knows that.
