My previously canceled trip to China has been re-instated! I leave tomorrow to catch the last half of the Bagua workshop, and then I've got another week of bumming around!! HooRAH!

Well, my upcoming trip to china just got canceled. Fuck.



The union at work is having a strike vote march 31st. The Powers that Be want all salaried people around for the month in case they walk. In fact, regardless of whether they walk or not.. I'd be away the 31st through the 16th.

Today I was woken up by the noise by the aquarium tank cover rattling. My 6 inch long yellowjacket (heh, cool!) and the LARGE BROWN SPIDER behind the glass were running around in a tizzy. I was awfully drowsy. Suddenly, a large brown blop of something lands on my shoulder. I glance over at what looks like a pile of ants and flick it off me. It lands on my floor. I kneel down to examine it, and realize it's a bunch of baby spiders. I blow on it a bit to see if they're alive.





Oh Fk-ing A-Right they are!!



To make matters worse, 'mama' spider, who is aparently the center of the blop and is carrying them around on her back, gets active as well.. This will not do..



I frantically grab nearby peice of paper to try to scoop her up (I always do my best not to kill spiders) and toss her out the front door. Somehow, I screw up and drop her right onto my bed. I can hear the giant yellowjacket buzzing like crazy. I start (gently, but shaking all the while) tearing my bed apart trying to find her.. As each cover and pillow is examined, I pitch it as far away from me as possible.. Hey, she could be hiding on it and climb on me again.



I think I'm getting close when I start hearing what sound like an NPR broadcast: "Modern Eugenics have produced amazing cross-breeds. I mean, we've bred species of spiders known for the power of their venom, but gentle enough to be handled by a child..."







Then, I wake up. THANK GOD it was just a dream.
