</a>
										<div>Yo ! People ! -

Sounds like all hell broke loose after I left !!

Hope all of you came out of that hellish fire situation all right . . . Sounded really scary for some ! Wish I could have helped out some with the big truck but oh well, . . . I've got to grab my vacation when it's here !!! I was bummed to miss decom too !!. . .

So anyway, just wanted to say hey from the otherside of the globe . . . !!! On a shoddy internet connection, where the power keeps going down !!!

Spent a while on a sweet little tropical beach . . . with my girlfriend Julia. . . had a little room for $7/night on the cliffs over the waves . . . Got a motorbike and we've been cruisin' around through jungle, palm trees, and a bunch of colorful little villages, Old men cutting grass in the fields &amp; rice paddies, women in bright saris, getting water from the well, and walking with baskets on their heads etc . . . School letting out a kids everywhere waving, wind in our hair . . . Motorbike is a great way to travel in paradise . . . Cows, temples, colors, smells of spices, and a million other things in the warm air . . . We rode like 40 miles north to a deserted "paradise" beach with no one on it . . . It was sweet !!!!

We also explored four different old forts, on bluffs overlooking the sea, and river mouths . . . some with HUGE Banyan trees with long roots hanging down propping up the branches growing in the old stone . . .!!! Those trees are everywhere, and super impressive . . .

If I could operate a motorbike, and a camera at the same time I would have a million amazing photos . . . as is I still have a few . . . and lots of memories . . . Anyway, India rocks . . . !

In Mumbai some guy wanted us to be in a Bollywood film !!! But it was going to take all day, and only paid Rs 400 ~ like $11 !!!! So I guess I'll have to get my 15 minutes of fame elsewhere . . .

We're eating lots of great food for cheap too !! Man is Indian cooking is amazing !!! and mostly vegetarian !! Hit some local markets, then some southern beaches. Heading north in 2 days. . . to Varanasi, Jaipur, Pushkar, and some yet undetermined spots !!!

Life is GOOD !!!

Here's a few photos I could cobble together downsize etc . .

<div>Greetings from the banks of the Nile ! in Aswan Egypt !

Well it has been quite a week . . . !
Where do I start . . words just don't really do it justice ya know . . . . But just wanted to say hey ! and give you a taste of what I've been up to . . .

Flew into Cairo, a city of 18 Milion ! as opposed to Roma's 3 million or so . . . It's actually pretty nice too, and warmer !. . . it is teeming with street life like you don't find so much in the west . . . street vendors, hustlers, steamy, middle eastern life in your face . . gotta love it . . . Everyone has something to offer us . . . and you have to haggle for everything from taxi's to dinner . . .

If you say "Hey ! Mohammed" half the street will look turn at you . . . All the men in turbans, smoking Sheesha in the coffee shops. A little Baksheesh (bribe/money) in the right hands will get you most anything . . . Horse drawn carriages will get you around town in Luxor . . .

We've been seeing what we can . . .the Khan-Kahlili the main Cairo bazaar that is centuries old . . . papyrus making, the Citadel mosque, Cairo Museum (Wow!) . . .
We saw the cheesy light show for the Pyramids &amp; Sphinx . . . but cool . . .

We hired camels for sunrise on the hills over the Pyramids . . . then bribed the guards and rode Arabian horses into the Pyramids just before they oppened to the public ! That was cool . . . galloping across the plains towards the Pyramids ! Then all around . . . We made it inside the middle one to the tomb, small tunnel, and eerie ! The guides say the whole pyramid used to be covered completely in Alabaster !!! Then it was looted . . . couldn't imagine . . .They are overwhelmingly big . . .

Took the night train to Luxor, and have been getting up at 5 am every morning . . . to take ferries across the NIle, and get to the Valley of the Kings and some temples before the tour buses . . . We had Tut-Ankh-Amon's tomb to ourselves that was cool . . . Rameses III and other's were awe inspiring beyond words . . . The colors and reliefs are all still in incredible condition, and the tombs are small and deep in the ground . . . We walked over the hills, out of the Valley, and dropped into one of the ancient temples, Deir-alBarhri . . . .Some Temples Medinet-Habu, Luxor, Karnak are damned impressive too . . .Words don't do it . . .

Little old men in turbans, set up a series of mirrors, and reflect the sun on to some of the reliefs . . . for some baksheesh, of course . . .

It is mind boggling to think that all of this is 3500 -5000 years old . . . It was older to the Romans, than the Romans are to us now . . .

So yesterday we made it out to Abu Simbel, a giant monument, with huge statues of Rameses II hewn out of the rock . . .and Philae an Island temple to Isis . . .

Julia flew out to Cairo then Rome today, and I'm going it alone from here . . . I leave in a few hours for 3 days down the Nile on a Felucca . . . I should end up in Luxor then Cairo, hoping to climb that Cheop's Pyramid, but reports are grim . . .

So much more, but no time . . . .

Thanks for all of your last comments !

see you soon !

- J~!

p.s. I wanted to include a photo, but hey this is Egypt, we don't have the Technology . . . !!!</div>

										<div>Bon Giorno !!

Hey people ! Just wanted to say Ciao !! from Roma ! Before my girlfriend, Julia &amp; I fly off to Egypt ! Tomorrow . . . for a few weeks !!

I spent a few days in Paris on my way, but I've been there before so I won't digress . . .Rome has kept me busy ! The Coliseum, Roman Forum &amp; Baths, the Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, Piazza Navona, Campo de Fiori, Museums, good food, lots of wine, you know the drill . . . It's a tough life . . . !!! Va Bene ! La dolce vita !

Yesterday I went to the worlds most ornate gift shop . . . The Vatican . . . St Peters &amp; the cuppola, was pretty impressive. The Sistine chapel too . . . and all of the history is overwhelming . . .

My brain is filling up, so my Italian is coming along slow, it has to compete with my Spanish, French, &amp; Portugese for brain cells . . . even if they are all latin based, they're quite different, and it's a pain ! with 4 sets of vocabulary to remember !

Anyway just wanted to say Ciao ! from the other side of the planet ! See you all soon . . . !</div>
