I am going "surfing" tomorrow in the morning (I hang out on the surfboard and try not to be eaten by sharks) and then I am working the Cirquek at 6.

If you're lucky you will get Maria as your instructor to the deep end of the kennel.
Maria is the kindest and most compassionate person I have ever met who will beat you with the stupid stick ...BECAUSE YOU DESERVE IT. I honestly don't mind because I already believe that dogs have it figured out more than us...and we deserve to get smacked by the stupid stick once in a while. Anyways, Maria...love you and all that you do for those great Souls in transition.

about me
I have an IQ of 152... I put that up, not to "brag" (I don't think you can rightfully brag about your IQ any more that you can about your height or hair color), but because it tells you more about me than any other single fact. It colors everything else I am, or am not. It is more consistent with who I am than my race, or nationality, or my ethnicity, or my gender, or my birth order, and more than my place or date of birth. I am more the product of my intelligence than any thing on a census form. It may not be the first thing a stranger takes note of, but it has more than anything else been the thing people have commented to me about all of my life. It, more than any other single thing, has effected what I did and how I did it.
"A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, con a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyse a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects." -Robert A. Heinlein ...and I can do most of those things (I've already done most of them), except for butchering a hog. One, I'd never be able to kill one (unless it was in self-defense) and two, I'd feel awful about someone else killing it (though I've dissected more animals than I can remember including a fetal pig, I've long since hung up my scalpel). It's stuff like that what keeps me from eating pork. Really, I feel sorry for the pigs and don't want to contribute to their misery. On the other hand, I’ve done more than my share of comforting the dying. I read somewhere that some people are called to be midwives to those who are exiting this life, and beyond that I keep being asked to mind the corpse until the undertaker can undertake them because for some reason I’ve never minded corpses. "The Electric Monk was a labour-saving device, like a dishwasher or a video recorder. Dishwashers washed tedious dishes for you, thus saving you the bother of washing them yourself, video recorders watched tedious television for you, thus saving you the bother of looking at it yourself; Electric Monks believed things for you, thus saving you what was becoming an increasingly onerous task, that of believing all the things the world expected you to believe." I feel a strong kinship with the Electric Monk as described here by DNA in "Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency" because of the breadth and depth to which I am able to believe things other people have difficulty accepting. "The greatest danger is not that our hopes are too high and we fail to reach them, but that they are too low, and we do." -Michelangelo ...and I try to remember that.

She’s been very sick, so I brought her to my house to stay with me. I was afraid I might be bothering her by watching her so closely and hovering over her. She let me know it was alright when she jumped up on the couch next to me, scooted over, laid her head on my chest, and fell fast asleep.

I’m glad because I love making her life as easy as I can, …. only now I can’t move.
Thank goodness for broadband cards and a trunkful of spare laptops, otherwise I'd have no choice but to go to bed and like sleep or something.

I HAVE to move closer to a bike path.
I was going though my image files and found this. She walked up to me in my driveway on New Years Eve. She'd been running around the neighborhood for a few days, hanging out with the stray German Shepherd I feed. Bob, the GS, may be able to defend himself from the coyotes (he's had some tangles with them in the past), but she'd make them a light snack if they ever got hold of her. She was a complete sweetheart. Pure white coat with corn flower blue eyes. Not a dog that should be living ...

Dangerpantz' reaction to hearing that I picked up a dog I found running in traffic on Florence Blvd. in Compton today. Now all I have to do is find him a home. [I'll post a better picture once I take it.]

Hmm. This reminds me, I really ought to buy my ticket. I won't, but it reminds me that I should. Then there's some sort of packing involved? Is that right? I forget. Am I supposed to buy stuff? I've got a weeks worth of crinolines and four ...

That presupposes he has a brain. My own theory tends closer to a congealed glob of mush. A sour, spoiled, congealed glob of mush.

The fucking navy is constantly fighting for the right to kill whales and other sea mammals, but I think the protests and law suits are working to stop them.
