What is ego? :::=:::my response to a question posed on the transpersonal psychotherapy tribe

It is that which makes and uses language both to ask questions (so that they may be answered by what are presumed to be external sources - in order to 'validate' its 'subjective' 'existence' in relation to the 'objective' 'externality'), and to answer questions (in order to 'validate' its 'objective' 'existence' in relation to 'other' 'subjectivities'). Sometimes the questions are hidden in what are called statements (i.e., "X is blue" can also be understood as a response to the question "Is X blue?", implying there is an externality capable of having posed such a question. Whether or not there actually are externalities remains a matter of contention, about which many questions have been asked, and a multitude of differing answers given.
