I think she is rad and crafty and goofy and a smart penpal (when she has time for me!) Ya end up wanting more from her: that's just a testament to her character. It just shines through in whatever she puts her hand to. And the niggle-naggle is that she lives about 1/2 a mile from me and I haven't yet met her in person. Fuuuuuuuuuuck !!

She is one of those people I wish I had an opportunity to hang out with in the rw. Other than a too brief interlude under a scant awning in a place close to nirvana ;)
Perhaps once I complete my myco collection in my kitchen sink, she will visit!

She is the best friend I never had as a child.
She will drink champagne in the bath and talk about the shapes of mushrooms. She will laugh wisely at strip malls with me. She is innocent and devious in a way that drives me wild. She knows esoteric and beautiful words and she can melt me with them. She is sharp but never mean. She is the only one I've ever been able to sleep touching. She is the playmate I've been looking for all my life, and the games are so much better as adults.

Don't trust her offers to identify your backyard fungi. She will keep them in her refrigerator for weeks and then gleefully tell you in horrible detail how your precious produce slowly deliquesced in the baggie.

Mella seems almost limitless. Everytime I see her I both get to know her better and want to know her better. She is one of those people you find yourself thinking about at odd times.

Well, the mella machine is like no other machine you will ever meet!
She is well greased,
Purrs like a kitty,
and is great on gas (n2o gets the best milage!)
Mel is the best person to have hotspring adventures with and she has the best coconuts ever!!!! ever!!!
I have a friend visiting from in the backwoods in northern California. She says all she's heard since moving there has been almost all hippie acoustic music, and though it does have its appeal she's in the big city now and is craving some bum-shaking bass, maybe some breaks, but in any case some non-acoustic music she can shake to.
Please to be telling me what is going on this weekend so I can pass along the info to her thx!!!
(I, on the other hand, plan to lay low this weekend :)

I wasn't sure if I could gain entry to the local show so I bought 2 for the Seattle show to hedge my bets. Lucky for me I get to see Modeselektor on the 18th in San Francisco -- and now have 2 tickets to the Seattle show that will go unused. I'll post it to craigslist if'n no one I know can go, but will just *give* these tickets (that's a $30.98 value!) to a friend if someone is willing to make the trip to put them to use. Yep, that means YOU.
