what I wonder about is the survival of our knowledge . . . all these catastrophic disasters would, presumably, leave some of our species alive, somewhere, on the planet . . . how would/could all our collective knowledge about materials, biology, chemistry, physics, survive? Is all now recorded on magnetic or optical disks? Wouldn't stone or clay tablets provide a time-tested way... read more

Ok, what gets me here is the *opposition* to the idea . . . Why would *anyone* object to disposing of your remains in the most environmentally friendly way?
