(replacing my original that went missing...)
Erik was one of the first people to friend me when I came to tribe - seems so long ago now. We've been through some pretty serious ups and downs together (wow, is that an understatement ;), but we have emerged with an incredibly solid, beautiful friendship. He is the type of friend that's always ready with an encouraging word, a strong shoulder , or a witty quip - and somehow knows exactly which you need at the time. Erik is, in short, an extraordinary human being and I am incredibly lucky to be able to call him my friend.
"Thank you" seems terribly inadequate, but it's pretty much all I have...so thank you for everything, my friend.

Well, only for a few days ... off to New Zealand on Tuesday. Travelling is such a joy. We get so used to our regular environment that we start to take a lot of things in life for granted. Travelling really shakes that all up! Everything is novel, interesting, different, challenging - the weather, the culture, the local dialect, the customs, food etc.
If I had to say what my favouritest bit of the whole trip was, I think it was gunning a Harley Sportster over the lower bit of Oahu. That ...

I promised one of my American friends that I wouldn't blog about this, but I can't hold my silence any longer. What is it with North American cheese snacks? Why do they all taste so salty? Why do they not even remotely taste like cheese? There is something so delectably more-ish about Australian cheese treats like Twisties, Cheezels and Cheetos. I miss it. I want to buy a huge pack of Twisties when I land back in Melbourne and pour the whole lot into my waiting gullet, like some kind of demen...

I would love to have said that my ex-fiancee and I lived happily ever after together, but I guess I knew that wasn't going to happen ... at least not now. There was just too much at stake, and too much unresolved in our own lives, to just make a go of it. Well, that's how I saw it. My ex just wanted to throw caution to the wind and let true love cut a swathe through all our problems. If it was just me and her, I would have gone along with that, but with little childrens' well-being at stake, ...

Friday is fast approaching! I'm bound for Vancouver via Honolulu. I'll be spending the day in Honolulu but will be sleeping on the plane. Very excited about seeing my sister and my nephews and nieces. It's been 15 years since I last saw them!
Have seen my ex-fiancée a couple more times since my last update. It's been amazing seeing her again, and I love her so dearly. The last time she was here though her husband left a message on my answering machine. I called him back the next day as req...

A quick update for my friends who have been following my story.
My ex-fiancee and I have been keeping in touch by email most days. The reminiscing has largely dried up and we seem to now just be discovering each other's personalities. I really like who she has become, and I know the feeling is mutual! It's always strange talking to her, because it just feels so ... comfortable. It's like talking to a sibling.
She has somehow managed to get a whole day away from her family next week, so...

about me
Of all the great experiences in my life, the greatest and most meaningful has been love. I have fallen deeply in love and lost love. Love made me a god, but love also ripped my soul in two. One day, I read about limerence and the bewilderment of my romantic life suddenly vanished. That's what brings me here to Tribe :)
Home Again ...

Re: Did I get ripped off ?
(in australia)
Oh and if any Aussies find themselves in Canada and want to call home cheaply, then I recommend a card called Good Call. Rates are 1c/min, no gotchas, excellent quality.

It seems to read that way, although that's a strange offer if that's the case.
I use a calling card called a Joy card. Itt got recommended to me at a little Asian smoke shop, and both my wife and I have used it extensively. Call quality is exce...

Re: the worst day in limerence
(in Limerence Experienced)
When my LO rang me and said that we probably should stop having lunch together and talking after work near our cars. It was like the world had ended. I bawled like a little kid for two days, and at times I sobbed so hard, I made barking noises lik...
