The Cat's Meow

October 24, 2007
(replacing my original that went missing...)

Erik was one of the first people to friend me when I came to tribe - seems so long ago now. We've been through some pretty serious ups and downs together (wow, is that an understatement ;), but we have emerged with an incredibly solid, beautiful friendship. He is the type of friend that's always ready with an encouraging word, a strong shoulder , or a witty quip - and somehow knows exactly which you need at the time. Erik is, in short, an extraordinary human being and I am incredibly lucky to be able to call him my friend.

"Thank you" seems terribly inadequate, but it's pretty much all I have...so thank you for everything, my friend.

I Meow, Therefore I Am

Well, it's not actually a new tribe, but an old dormant tribe that I have taken over as moderator :)

NVC is a process and system of language designed to get people's needs met in a mutually compassionate way. Evolving from Dr Marshall Rosenberg's mediation and peacemaking skills developed during the 1960's civil rights movement, this simple practice has a profound and life-changing impact on those who start to apply its principles in everyday life.

As I have often told my own friends, I... read more

Kitty In The City

Location
about me
Of all the great experiences in my life, the greatest and most meaningful has been love. I have fallen deeply in love and lost love. Love made me a god, but love also ripped my soul in two. One day, I read about limerence and the bewilderment of my romantic life suddenly vanished. That's what brings me here to Tribe :)

Re: what do the abbreviations mean? (in Limerence Experienced) Squirrel: It would be ideal if this forum supported sticky threads, but it doesn't.

What I can do though is edit the blurb text that introduces this forum, and put a link to this thread in there. I'll sort this out a bit later on today.

Re: Inverse Ladder Theory (in Limerence Experienced) Barry/Anne,

I haven't been following this conversation, but I would like to chime in about NVC and give a little perspective on it. In interpersonal relationships, NVC is all about creating a quality connection between people and thus giving th... read more

Re: The sexual side of limerence (in Limerence Experienced) Yes, I think that's how I am too, Thinker. My LOs hold a special place in my affections to this day. My limerence was always blended with genuine love.

Re: Outcomes of Limerent Experience while Married (in Limerence Experienced) Sela, I'm with the others who have posted so far - limerence taught me some huge lessons and changed my life in ways I could never have anticipated.

I ended up divorcing out of choice. I had been with my wife about 15 years by then, after many ... read more
