crude oil closed at $110.87/BBL yesterday
at 42 gal/bbl, this is $2.640/gal of crude oil. That means that even IFF they could turn that into a 1:1 change for gasoline, the material cost alone is $2.64/gallon.
Now that you know, I'll thank you to not tell me that we can change the price of gas by not buying from Exxon/Mobil. You want prices to go down? Don't buy ANYTHING. Because everything you buy causes the price of gasoline to go up.
More on this later, when I have time to write the essay that's in my head.
