scarification procedure

M. did a scarification on my right thigh. I layed down naked from waist down. Scared can I take the pain, but the desire for something new outwayed my nervies. M. began the first cut, It was like a prolonged poke of a needle down the thigh, it felt like 20 inches, but was only like 2 1/2 inches. Then the cut on the inside, I started to drift and the next two cuts were noticable but not as intense. The skin removal on that first leg of the star was non eventful and nonpainful. Wiped up the blood, and snapped a pic. this continued for the next 4 legs of the star. The blood ran some, but for the most part, oozed more than ran non stop. I am now at two weeks exactly after the procedure. I have pulling, itch, some swelling and it is a nice shade of deep pink, with occasional bright red hues. No sign of infection, Went without wrapping it yesterday and felt the rub of my pants all day. It was a bit much as the hair is stubbly and has groown back around the scarification. Ever felt a cactus prick? That is what is felt like. Anyway, The best part of this so far has been the fact I was able to lay there and work through my fear, the pain and realized, I am strong. That faced with fight or flight syndrome, I can take it. I never made a sound, jumped or yelled stop. It was a right of passage, but on a whole new level, much higher than a tat or piercing.
