I'm looking for a perfect, fresh housing scene. Pray with me...

<div>Wow. It's been a while for those of you for whom it's been a while. So i guess a quick no-shit synopsis of what my life holds right now is in order. Ok, here's my nutshell: I'm engaged, he's amazing and tall, we don't have a date; I make money as an administrative assistant, I love it, I'm leaving the job in December; I'm starting a business planting native-food gardens in people's yards next January, her name is Dirt Makes Food; I'm going to school to study permaculture, biodynamics, business and art; I'm getting my massage license; I live in an intentional community of men in NE Portland until the end of this month (FEB), when the B.F. and I are moving out to find our nest. I'm growing fast and dynamically. If you are reading this, I love you. No shit.

Here's the housing ad/spell that we have crafted. Please read it and keep a candle lit and your eyes and ears peeled for this perfect place. I'm saying that this perfect house exists now, it's waiting for us and that settling isn't an option. That's our game. Will you play with me? Here's the spell, thanks for your love:

----------------------------------------------------------

The basics:
We're a recently-engaged couple (working professionals both) who are looking for a place to settle into for a couple of years while we focus on our relationship, our jobs and building community around us. We'd like an attractive gardening-friendly home on the inner east side with two bedrooms or a master bedroom + study. We'd like a place by the beginning of march, close-in on the east side (see below for more details).

Who we are:
We're in a very solid relationship, and have recently become engaged. One of us is a minority small business developer (consultant) who's had his own three-person firm for about two years, and the other is working for a publishing company for the next year while developing a business designed to assist Portlanders in transforming their lawns into food-producing gardens. We're active in the LGBTQ (Gay) community, are both homebodies who simultaneously have a lot of commitments around town, and we would like a space to call our own after years of living in communal spaces. We've lived together since June of last year. We volunteer time with local organizations like the Portland Area Business Association, Salon Q, Basic Rights Oregon and other community groups, often take classes in communication, gardening and spirituality, and spend time with our friends around town.

We work 9-5 jobs, and are rarely up late. We have only one car, no kids, and currently no pets.

Who you are:
We'd love to have a friendly, trustworthy landlord who will appreciate our work to increase your property value through gardening and house upkeep. We are impeccable about paying our rent, are respectful communicators and generally great tenants, and we would love to live in a house owned by someone who will appreciate that. Perhaps you are interested in a lease-to-own or rent-to-own arrangement, and would like to have tenants you can trust to respect your property.

About the house:

Essentials

    * 2-3 bedrooms or combination of a master bedroom and a study
    * Hardwood floors
    * Laundry nearby
    * South/direct sunlight in the yard and space/permission to garden and grow food
    * A neighborhood friendly to a gay couple (if you're not sure what this means, please ask)
    * Space to express ourselves from time to time (eg, not having to tiptoe around in a paper-walled duplex)
    * Close-in (within 60 blocks of MLK, south of Lombard and north of Powell), on the east side
    * Colorful decor or permission to paint (and of course we'll paint it back should we move out)
    * Proximity to fun neighborhood hangouts (coffeeshops, food, grocery shopping, etc.)
    * A decent-size kitchen (no kitchenettes, please)
    * A fireplace
    * Great, friendly neighbors
    * Good-quality stove and fridge (no duct tape! :)
    * Bus-accessible (5-10 blocks to a major busline, eg. one which runs every fifteen minutes)
    * A closet in the bedroom
    * Basement access or underground storage (for a root cellar—it's a garden thing)
    * Spacious bathroom

Wants

    * Ample storage space
    * High ceilings
    * On-site W/D
    * The possibility of a dog or cat (no, we don't have one currently)
    * Windows which open... good ventilation means good tenants!
    * A park or nature area within walking distance
    * High-efficiency appliances
    * Relatively low ambient noise; some peace and quiet. We work 9-5s :)
    * Off-street parking and/or a garage would be nice.
    * A fenced yeard
    * Two floors
    * A bathtub
    * Pet-friendly house (we don't have pets but might want them)

We're looking for a space by the 1st of March or before, and we are shooting for a $800-$900/mo space but higher inquiries are welcome for the right place! If your space doesn't quite match our vision, let us know and we'll see if it could work for us!
