Everyone I know is against this bailout of Wallstreet, the polls show a large majority of the population are against it, yet our elected officials are going ahead with it.

Aren't they supposed to be representing what we want?

Miles Ridden: 208.6
Current Location: Red Lion Inn, Coos Bay, Oregon
Day started late, Darcie didn't want to get up at the "Butt Crack of Dawn" her first day of summer break. So we finally go on the road about noon.
Rode to the Oregon Coast Aquarium in Newport and from there proceded south stopping at the Sea Lion caves to strech and get some water.
Tomorrow we plan on leaving around 9am and being in Califorina by lunch.
The only bad thing, I left the AC adapter for the notebook on the couch. Hope I can find a universal one before the battery dies.
More tomorrow.

Monday I was informed that my job of 10 years will end April 27, 2007 because it's been outsourced.

I have the "opportunity" to apply to the outsource company for a position that I'm overqualified for with totally sucky benifits and probably less pay.

If I do nothing and stay till the bitter end I'll get 10 weeks paid plus another 4 weeks of vacation time that's accumulated. This plus unemployment would mean not having to work for 40 weeks. Of course at some point in this time I'd have to find another job.

Not sure what I'm going to do yet, but the universe will present something.

It really weird not going this year, not so much from the not going because that was a decision I made last year. More from all my stuff is going with out me, my canopies, my kitchen, my Suburban all going to the burn without me. That is leaving me feeling really strange.
I guess after 5 years this feels like the end of a era or something.
Oh well, next weekend I'm off to Seattle for Bumbershoot and to visit some of my favorite people that also stayed home this year.
