Can anyone recommend where to stay? The Canadian Side maybe?

The Canadian side has better hotels and better views since it faces all the falls. It also is way more overdeveloped and commercialized, with giant casinos and resorts everywhere. Oddly enough, the American side is sort of quaint and even pastoral in comparison. But with fewer hotel choices and no views of the falls.
I'd stay on the Canuck side. You'll do all the sight-seeing stuff from the US side, and you can walk back and forth on the Rainbow Bridge, so it's no big deal. |

I've stayed on both sides but I was pretty young. I seem to remember a lot more stuff to do on the Hoser side. Wherever you stay, do not miss riding on the Maid of the Mist. There's also a big sky tower with a restaurant at the top. I can't remember if it rotates or not.

I also highly recommend going wine tasting in the Niagara peninsula while you're on the Canadian side.
