92-year-old, petite, well-poised and proud man, who is fully dressed each morning by eight o'clock, with his hair fashionably coifed and shaved perfectly, even though he is legally blind, moved to a nursing home today. His wife of 70 years recently passed away, making the move
necessary.
After many hours of waiting patiently in the lobby of the
nursing home, he smiled sweetly when told his room was ready.
As he maneuvered his walker to the elevator, I provided a visual description of his tiny room, including the eyelet sheets that had been hung on his window.
"I love it," he stated with the enthusiasm of an eight-year-old having just been presented with a new puppy.
"Mr. Jones, you haven't seen the room; just wait."
"That doesn't have anything to do with it," he replied.
"Happiness is something you decide on ahead of time. Whether I like my room or not doesn't depend on how the furniture is arranged ... it's how I arrange my mind. I already decided to love it. "It's a decision I make every morning when I wake up. I have a choice; I can spend the day in bed recounting the difficulty I have with the parts of my body that no longer work, or get out of bed and be thankful for the ones that do.
Each day is a gift, and as long as my eyes open, I'll focus on the new day and all the happy memories I've stored away. Just for this time in my life.
Old age is like a bank account. You withdraw from what you've put in.
So, my advice to you would be to deposit a lot of happiness in the bank account of memories! Thank you for your part in filling my Memory bank.
I am still depositing." Remember the five simple rules to be happy:
1. Free your heart from hatred.
2. Free your mind from worries.
3. Live simply.
4 Give more.
5. Expect less.

Arms up and out, half bent, hands just above head level, facing your peeps waving in a circular fashion. Subtly sway to the left, then to the right. Keep with it, back and forth. Don't stop waving. Now mix in a gentle bob, up and down... That's right, very good...
Now add a little, "Whoo-hooooo, Whoo-hoooo....." as you sway.
Perfect.
Just 5 seconds of this happy dance, just 5 seconds, even when feeling blue, will always make you smile. Your smile will lift your spirits. Your spirits will summon ancient friends. And your friends will raise you higher into the light.
Works every time.

Of course, the human anatomy has countless built-in performance enhancement mechanisms: You sweat when you're hot, you smile when vulnerable, and you know when you're being watched.
But, I bet you didn't know you have the instinctual ability to instantly acclimate to miraculous life changes, avalanches of abundance, amazing new friendships, and your "star" suddenly blasting off.
This is by design. It's in your genes. Perfectly natural.
Just didn't want you to be caught off guard by your own adaptability. You'd look remarkably out of place with your mouth agog while on some red carpet, tanning in St. Tropez, or driving along the coast in your hot new solar powered convertible.
Lovin' you,
The Universe

"Ohhhhh my... oh my Gooooood!
"No way! Unbelieeeevable!!!!!!!
"I'm freakin'... Totally freakin'... Get out of here!
"Oh no, no, no! Please, don't let this be a dream.
"Eiy-yie-yie...
"Can you believe it's me? I can't. Guess I can.
Guess I did! Yeah me!
"U-ga-chuga, U-ga-chuga, (uhmpf!)
I can't help this feeling...
"Better than even I had imagined. Way.
"Thank you, Universe!"
Very nice. Very nice, indeed. Great visuals, super expressions, careful not to over do it with the hip swivel on "uhmpf".
That's all the practicing we'll have to do today, won't be long now. Won't be long at all.

Shelly was one of my campmates at Xara Duldura and from the moment we met I immediately felt at ease. She is dynamic, vivacious and kind and and she has an aura that makes all of friends feel safe and loved. I am honored to have met her. (Thank you Shawn Michael)
And oh yeah, she looks pretty hot in pink!
