"Welcome to San Francisco"
weighed down with my backpacks large and small on my front and backa small lump wedged its way up my gullet and expressed itself in my throat
and in the wells of my eyes where the water for tears resides
realizing that this is really the last chapter
of this particular story
and with that same bittersweet feeling as when pages loosely fall closed
i sink into "back home"
just the day before yesterday i was wandering around Camden Town in London
reveling in a neighborhood that seemed to be a place i could fit
having a beer while watching a crowd of costumed partyers walk by
now i am shifting the focus of the lens to capture stills
of job, house, unpacking
and it is with excitement, happiness, energy
i am ready.
i have said that to friends and i find that it rings very true. i am glad that it does.
i can't think of anywhere else in the world that i want to be.
i thank god to be coming home to SF.
