Back to Boulder
Wow...Thats really all i can say after the massive amount of bus and car travel ive had over the past couple weeks. I've been feeling pretty exausted going from backpacking mode, into bus, car, moving, grounding, and then starting to think about WORK now that im back. Im very satisfied being back but at the same time mildly unprepared. A turbulant landing so to speak. All systems GO however back working on music and looking for a more permenant residance here in Boulder. Also looking forward to busting back out the climbing gear from storage and heading up the canyon. It IS good to be back.love
HEADED HOME!
Alright folks after much debate thought and hoping around looking for where we would like to hop back on the trail we decided to call off the rest of the trail untill a dryer year allows us safe and a little easier passage. Everything is doable but we did not want to continually put up with all the snow and snow melt. Low night temps, hard (icey) morning snowpack and what not! Caught a greyhound from Sacramento to Albuquerque to pick up the rest of our food packages, see my sister get married and head back to Boulder! Im in Albuquerque till this Sat. morning/afternoon so hit me up! Spirits are still high and we are psyched we got the first 800 miles (the desert) section of the PCT done on a wet year where the springs were free-flowin and the desert flower were by the MILLION!Namaste
folks
see ya soon!'
(Maybe even BMo6') *i could be persuaded!
South Lake Tahoe update!
Well decided not to Hike out of Mammoth into Tuolomne due to more and more snow. Sooooo we hitched up to South Lake Tahoe were two days ago we tried hikin out of here only to find out 8 miles up trail 6-8 feet snow pack over 12 foot drifts. We stayed the night at a relativly low altitude at of 8200' @ a beautiful blue frozen over lake. Temps that night droped below freezing and the snowpack all the way till about noon was solid n' icey. We turned back. So we find ourselves here again in South Lake in a Motel with the heavy option of heading home. Might check out Yosimite, Red Woods and area however.Lone Pine Mile 744.8 along the PCT
Good Day! Pullin into Lone Pine after hikin 744.8 miles along the Pacific Crest Trail. We are going to skip past about 170 miles up to Mammoth to continue north untill this section of the Sierra's melts off and the rivers become a little more safe crossing. (We recieved a wicked avalanche, snow, and river fording report from our friend Trauma 1.5 weeks ahead of us.) Things are going well with the group despite normal trail and team woes, blisters, ravaging mosquitos, etc.enjoying gettin messages and emails. THANK YOU all for your love and support.
peace n' blessings
April 11th o6' The Journey Begins
Wow April 11th is quickly approching, and for those of you that dont know, but might care, Im beginning the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT)Heres a little somethin from the PCTA website:
Zigzagging its way from Mexico to Canada through California, Oregon and Washington the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) boasts the greatest elevation changes of any of America's National Scenic Trails, allowing it to pass through six out of seven of North America's ecozones including high and low desert, old-growth forest and artic-alpine country. Indeed, the PCT is a trail of diversity and extremes. From scorching desert valleys in Southern California to rain forests in the Pacific Northwest.
I'll be joined by my partner Erica, her id. twin sister Erin, her partner Jim, and Loucy Lu (the lovely pouch)
We plan on finishing the trail in British Colombia in late Sept. or early Oct.
Looking for things to do, places to stay, and cool things to check out during resupplies. I'll be continuing communication via Tribe.net, MySpace.com, and Familymoons.com, and i will have my cellphone.
If interested in meeting up get in touch!!!
Blessings,
Peace,
