about me
We drove all night straight on through morning and every time I thought you were finally asleep and I started really talking and singing to you, at you, for you that damn smile would spread over your faux-slumbering face and you'd snort and laugh at me, reach out one of those damn hands that sits at the end of your fantastic fucking arms and ruffle the soft hairs on my neck. and that chinese fire drill around and around the car in the middle of the historic 66 that made the quiet hitchhiker titter nervously was an inspired moment that I'm trying to shove into the dresser drawers of unforgettable recollection but it doesn't really fit and keeps spilling out into fantastical embellishment where your circles around the rental car burned with blue fire and the horns that sprouted from your forehead were both sexy and demure. and now I'm watching you eat my blueberry pancakes right off my plate and I don't even care. Lately: the bounce in my step, the roll in my flow, the gleam in my eye, the brass in my pocket, the breakfast in my kitchen, thumb-war grudge matches.

My trap not staying shut

*****
Grindhouse (Movie)
( miscellaneous » movie reviews ) ""Give him a gun, give him ALL the guns!"" I think we’ve all watched a real good movie only to have a few fatal flaws crop up that seriously detract from our enjoyment. A few obvious, key fuckups arise and we’re left to wonder what the fuck is wrong with Hollywood that they can’t get this... read more

The Invisibles" by Grant Morrision
( miscellaneous » book reviews ) "The Invisibles - the best of an amazing bunch from Vertigo" The Invisibles very much follows in the footsteps of luminary literary greats like HP Lovecraft (there is more to the universe than you know). I love the madcap jambalaya of urban myth, conspiracy theory, spirtualism, voodoo, black magic, technom... read more

I love how strong the day can be. There are few things more ephemeral than simple sunshine and yet it champions me through this day. I can sit at my work and watch it running wild over the buildings and windows and walkers. I can feel it lift me to my tiptoes like a strong lead in a dance that begins quietly and ends beautifully.

It’s hard not to be magnanimous today. I wish I could help someone change a flat or take a family of tourists on a hike through the secret graffiti museum dow... read more

OK, it's true. I can't get over how fucking brilliant these guys are. Like Ron Burgundy said "I want to be ON you".

Until the release of Nacho Libre to theatres on June 16th I'll have to make due with fawning over these fellas' genius via the time honored blog fodder of shameless links!

"It could be any black guy on the planet and he would probably end up apologizing for getting mad. It could be a black midget cripple on an iron lung and he would get tingling race fear up his spine. L... read more

mad props to "Linkmaster" Gene for passing this along.

Basketball Prank
On March 4, University of California Berkeley (Cal) played a basketball game against the University of Southern California (USC). With Cal in contention for the PAC-10 title and the NCAA tournament at stake, the game was a must-win.

Enter "Victoria."

Victoria was a hoax UCLA co-ed, created by Cal's Rally Committee. For the previous week, "she" had been chatting with Gabe Pruitt, USC's starting guard, over AOL In... read more
