about me
I'm a fun-loving Christian woman, mother of two awesome children, grandmother to a beautiful baby girl (whoot!), sibling to a bunch of brothers and sisters and auntie to a slew of nieces and nephews (whew!). I adore animals and own a very smart 10 yr-old Yorkie and three lovely felines. I love dancing (ballroom, rhythm, belly, country, um....all of it!), swimming, fishing, horseback riding and everything else outdoors, and I'm a rabi... er.. avid reader. I have a cool camera and really enjoy using it. Oh, and I also like fast cars with mean engines; can you say "2009 Camaro, oh baby!" : )

The cats had live crickets with a side order of sardines tonight. Heather was hysterical - she really, REALLY likes crickets. She did such a good hoover vac impersonation on them, I had to put her in another room so the other cats could get their fair share. Silly kitty.

This was the first time I'd fed sardines and they were a total hit. Looks like I won't have to use salmon oil anymore; in fact, we're now supplement-free. Yay! Fresh, whole foods are sooooo much better than supplements!

From another dancer: "As dancers, we pour our hearts and souls and years of training into *making the music visible*. We don't just move to create a visual effect of movement. We move in hopes of creating a perfect interpretation of a note, a beat, an accent, a musical phrase."

What a lovely description. I would add only that the "perfect interpretation" is as inherently organic as the belly dance form itself and so, is different from one dancer to next and even from one dancer's performan... read more

Today, practiced next Friday's Waltz performance for an hour, had an hour rest, took a Samba lesson for an hour, then had barely an hour to get to another studio, eating on the way, for a two hour Romani belly dance workshop. I am very, very tired, but other wise feeling AWESOME!!

Also decided my freezer was never going to be empty of the mice until I did something about it. So I defrosted a handful, sharpened my knife, gritted my teeth (NOTE: IF YOU'RE SQUEAMISH, STOP READING!!!), and...
