I met Mavi at Kennywood Park in 1999. She was a friend of a friend. The irony is that it was Mavi's company's annual picnic, so my original motivation was a free day at Kennywood including food. She asked me, "Do you always dress like that?" I LOVE that question! (smile)
Then that same year, I crashed her New Years Eve party at 3 AM.
This will be year 6 for Mavi and me. Through the thick and the thin, we remain friends.
Mavi is determined to do things for herself and work hard to make those things happen. I respect that.
Thank you, Mavi.

about me
I play violin for an experimental/electronic/ambient group known as Nyarlathotep, The Crawling Chaos--that's a reference to the works of HP Lovecraft and the Cthulu mythos. I've also sat in with local artists such as Patricia Wake, Ishtar, Bonfire Night, and the Wild Geese. A bit of history and some highlights from my music career:
* July 2007 - (with Nyarlathotep) opened for Attrition at The Rex Theatre
* Aug. 2007 - (with Nyarlathotep) featured in an "Electronic music showcase" at the Sphinx lounge
* Aug. 2007 - (with Nyarlathotep) opened for Android Lust at Cyber Wars
* Sept. 2007 - (with Nyarlathotep) opened for Thomas Christ at the BBT
* Nov. 2007 - (with Patricia Wake) opened for The Last Dance
*Mar. 2008 - (with Patricia Wake) opened for Baby Dee
I've studied tribal fusion bellydance for about seven years. My primary influences have been members of Zafira Dance Co., and I've also taken classes and workshops from Jill Parker, Heather Stantz, Zoe Jakes, Kami Liddle, and Fat Chance Belly Dance, to name a few. I also make costumes, and I teach classes in the Pittsburgh area. I'm always looking to meet new people and try new things.

Saint Louis was not bad. It reminds me a lot of Pittsburgh in many ways. I didn't have time to do much touristy stuff, but AJ and Andrew from YIV will appreciate this one: I found three Toynbee tiles while I was walking around downtown, on 8th nea...
