<div>I am out of a job. That was scary for a minute. Now it's a chance to decide what I really want to grow up and be.

Today, there is nothing to do but float down the river for a bit, or maybe lounge by the pool.

It's been many years, since I have had to be nowhere in particular, to take care of something or another.</div>

Come back, my friend! The form of our love
is not a created form.

Nothing can help me but that beauty.
There was a dawn I remember

when my soul heard something
from your soul. I drank water

from your spring and felt
the current take me.

<div>all of my friends, especially since the whole "Tribe melt down scare" have been using the other sites a bit more. I followed suit and made some my-face profiles.
Not the same.
They have their uses I think.
But I am really glad to still have tribe.
Years of history recorded here.
I like the way my tribes are set up.
How I know if there's a recent post or not.
"Groups" aren't the same.
I like the diversity I find on tribe.
I can still find my first blog.

Sisters

<div>Hello to all my wonderful Sisters, Sally sent me this today........

I thought I should share

*************************
Sisters

A young wife sat on a sofa on a hot humid day,
drinking iced tea and visiting with her Mother. As
they talked about life, about marriage, about the
responsibilities of life and the obligations of
adulthood, the mother clinked the ice cubes in her
glass thoughtfully and turned a clear, sober glance
upon her daughter

'Don't forget your Sisters,' she advised, swirling
the tea leaves to the bottom of her glass. 'They'll
be more important as you get older. No matter how
much you love your husband, no matter how much you
love the children you may have, you are still going
to need Sisters. Remember to go places with them now
and then; do things with them.'

'Remember that 'Sisters' means ALL the women...
your girlfriends, your daughters, and all your other
women relatives too. 'You'll need other women. Women
always do.'

What a funny piece of advice!' the young woman
thought. Haven't I just gotten married?
Haven't I just joined the couple-world? I'm now a
married woman, for goodness sake! A grownup! Surely
my husband and the family we may start will be all I
need to make my life worthwhile!'

But she listened to her Mother. She kept contact
with her Sisters and made more women friends each
year. As the years tumbled by, one after another,
she gradually came to understand that her Mom really
knew what she was talking about. As time and nature
work their changes and their mysteries upon a woman,
Sisters are the mainstays of her life.

After more than 50 years of living in this world,
here is what I've learned:

THIS SAYS IT ALL:

Time passes.
Life happens.
Distance separates.
Children grow up.
Jobs come and go.
Love waxes and wanes.
Men don't do what they're supposed to do.
Hearts break.
Parents die.
Colleagues forget favors.
Careers end.
BUT.........

Sisters are there, no matter how much time and how
many miles are
between you. A girl friend is never farther away
than needing her can reach.

When you have to walk that lonesome valley and you
have to walk it by yourself, the women in your life
will be on the valley's rim, cheering you on,
praying for you, pulling for you, intervening on
your behalf, and waiting with open arms at the
valley's end.

Sometimes, they will even break the rules and walk
beside you...Or come in and carry you out.

Girlfriends, daughters, granddaughters,
daughters-in-law, sisters, sisters-in-law, Mothers,
Grandmothers, aunties, nieces, cousins, and extended
family, all bless our life!

The world wouldn't be the same without women, and
neither would I. When we began this adventure called
womanhood, we had no idea of the incredible joys or
sorrows that lay ahead. Nor did we know how much we
would need each other.

Every day, we need each other still. Pass this on
to all the women who help make your life meaningful.
I just did. Short and very sweet:

There are more than twenty angels in this world.
Ten are peacefully sleeping on clouds. Nine are
playing. And one is reading her email at this
moment</div>

<div>As you may know, Yevette passed away last November. On Dec. 20, Her son, and just a few close friends gathered to let her ashes go on the Sonoma coast. The plan was to meet around 11 am in the morning, while the tide was on it's way out. Well, it didn't exactly happen that way, because Eric was about 90 min late. When he arrived with his girlfriend, I could tell by the apologetic smiles and twinkle in their eyes That they had spent most of the morning in each others arms. That was fine, it wasn't the first time I had sat for and extra hour and a half waiting for Yevette arrive somewhere late because of sex. The ceremony went beautifully and the sun was in the perfect place.

Well, I thought that day was the end of a very exquisite story, but no. The story goes on.

I am pleased to let the family know, that on that morning, a child was conceived, Eric and his wonderful girlfriend Christina are going to have a baby. Yevette is having a grandchild. Eric and Christina have asked if I could be there when the baby is born. I am so honored.
The baby is due on September 8, Yevette's "unbirthday", being exactly 6 months from her birthday on March 8.

I miss her so much.</div>

I will spin in circles until I am standing still. I will burst out in tears of joy because I am so lucky, the greatest musicians in the world will play for me. Chris Carnes' gentle spirit will guide me. Thankyou God. Amen.</div>

Rumi de jour

<div>
Sublime Generosity by Rumi, translated by Barks

I was dead, then alive.
Weeping, then laughing.

The power of love came into me,
and I became fierce like a lion,
then tender like the evening star.

He said, ‘You’re not mad enough.
You don’t belong in this house.’

I went wild and had tobe tied up.
He said, ‘Still not wild enough
to stay with us!’

I broke through another layer
into joyfulness.

He said, ‘Its not enough.’
I died.

He said, ‘You are a clever little man,
full of fantasy and doubting.’

I plucked out my feathers and became a fool.
He said, ‘Now you are the candle
for this assembly.’

But I’m no candle. Look!
I’m scattered smoke

He said, ‘You are the Sheikh, the guide.’
But I’m not a teacher. I have no power.

He said, ‘You already have wings.
I cannot give you wings.’

But I wanted his wings.
I felt like some flightless chicken.

Then new events said to me,
‘Don’t move. A sublime generosity is
coming towards you.’

And old love said, ‘Stay with me.’

I said, ‘I will.’

You are the fountain of the sun’s light.
I am a willow shadow on the ground.
You make my raggedness silky.

The soul at dawn is like darkened water
that slowly begins to say Thank you, thank you.

Then at sunset, again, Venus gradually
Changes into the moon and then the whole nightsky.

This comes of smiling back
at your smile.

The chess master says nothing,
other than moving the silent chess piece.

That I am part of the ploys
of this game makes me
amazingly happy.

And some days

<div>are better.

I can tell something big is on the horizon.
The universe always gears up a little on me befor it bestows it's sublime generosity.
You know what I mean, the out of the blue stuff, that is thrown out there just when you think you're actually in control.
Then you go ahead and admit you are powerless against and give in and just do what the universe says to.
This week the universe told me to ride to Lark with Matthew.
I am very happy about that.
We are leaving in the morning.
The parts for my car will be here when I get back.

It will be my birthday the week after I get back.
I think I would like to go to a very fancy restraunt, wear a stunning dress and too high heels and eat really good food and drink a bottle of wonderfull wine.

Anybody got any suggestions? Something elegant. </div>

Duchess: Oh, I quite understand. But remember the old saying..

Cook: ... “be what you would seem to be!” Or, if you’d like it put more simply: “Never imagine yourself to be otherwise than what it might appear to others that you were, or might have been, if it was not otherwise than what you had been would have appeared to them to be ... otherwise!”

Alice: I don’t know what your talking about.

Cook: You don’t know much and that’s a fact.</div>

<div>Last night I went and put a deposit down on a new rental for Gabriel and I. We have been living in a small cinderblock apartment for the last 4 years, It was all I could afford when Toby and I split up. WELL NOT ANYMORE!!! Our new home is huge and it has a fenced yard for my giant dog. It's in the same nieghborhood, so my Gabriel won't have to change schools or local friends. This is a big deal for us. We have been looking for the perfect place ever since the flood last year, now we got it! I think I can breath. wow.</div>
