I don't think I've ever met anyone in the world like my Boo. She never ceases to amaze me with her kindness, generosity, and warm heart. Leslie is a rare friend that no matter how far apart you are in terms of miles, you never feel separate from her or out of touch. She literally goes the extra mile for her friends, her mentors, and her art. I love her creative streak, her style, her drive and her sense of humor. If you ever need a shoulder to cry on, call Boo. If you need a laugh, call Boo. If you ever want your ear to go numb, call Boo. And if you want to have a rockin' good time,......yep, that's right, you call Boo. Leslie is one of the few dancers that I have made such an all-around solid DANCE connection with, whether we discuss music, style, creativity, ideas, ethics, makeup or mayhem. It's a damn shame we ain't in the same city, because we'd take over the world by storm. It could happen. : )

I love Miss Boo so much I'd even write a testimonial for her TWICE!
She is an amazing person, and although we don't see each other often, I think of her as a close friend. Some people just fit into your life like that.
Boo is a fantastic dancer, henna artist, teacher, clown, wicked enabler, mensch, fairy goddess and pirate queen. All of that and more wrapped up in a beautiful and downright sexy package!
I feel blessed to call her friend.

How could I have let so much time pass and not write a testimonial for my sister Boo? Leslie is a woman of so many facets....wicked enabler, teacher, henna artist, amazon warrior, dance goddess, muse, crafty witch, clown, mentor, pirate queen, friend and one sexy gal. Although we don't see each other or speak that often, I consider her my kindred- someone who just "clicked" with me right away. I'm thankful our paths have crosses and looking forward to the cool things our continued friendship will being!

Miss Boo you are such a beautiful person in so many different ways So I'll start by saying it like this:
When I watch you dance I see the passion in you eyes
When I hear you speak I hear the love you send out to me and all you hold dear
When I see your smile I know that I am home
What can I say Boo I love you for how you are =)
P.S. Kenny says you are a creative funny all around swell gal!

Leslie,
I think you are an extremely talented, giving, and light of spirit. You have great courage and a wealth of knowledge. I was so happy to see your vision come to life at NoMi. I was blown away. A year ago I was thru with dancing and you stuck by me, encouraging me, not to stop. Thank you for that. You are a good friend.
Love, Donna

Leslie,
Thank you so much for the very kind words...
I want to let you know that I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to start our friendship anew. It all was a pretty traumatic experience at the time and something that I don't think I'll ever "get over" in its entirety. But when it all died down, you were there, a bit skeptical, but there :P... willing to give a second chance. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart. You are such a caring and understanding person. I am much grateful and honored to now be your “friend”.

Leslie is one of those rare people you should be so lucky (Oy! YOU should be so lucky...) to meet in your life who makes you smile the moment she walks into the room you are in.
There has been much talk in testimoni about how she can be silly (fun silly!) and her seeming addiction to make-up (fun make-up!) and things that go sparklesparkle in the night. And I don't deny these things.
But when you meet her, pull the sparkly (SPARKLY!!) sunglasses down her nose, see past the delightfully painted visage. Even Pierrot had another layer under the whiteface.
Tarry not upon the jewelled lashes and look into her eyes.
Only then will you know the depth of this woman. Dive as deep into those depths, as much as she will allow, and be amazed at the kindness, the intelligence and extraordinary positive energy that only gets seen by few mortals. That outward silliness of the soubrette masks the inner seriousness of a wonderful woman whom I dare call my friend.

Leslie is one of the most talented students I ever had the pleasure of teaching and working with in my troupe. Back when I first met her I knew she was already going to be something as far as dance went... and to see her now, well, I was right!!! She has fire in her step and she spreads nothing but love and good energy everywhere she goes. But she is also one of those rare individuals who never takes things laying down. She's a strong, determined, focused women who knows when to say when, and when to walk away from bad people and bad situatons. She's wise beyond her years, funny as all hell, and cute as a button, too. She's like a little magical fairy who knows all about living life to it's fullest and there's no doubt in my mind that she is destined for higher things. Love to you, Boo. Keep dancing. Keep moving. Set the road behind you, and in front of you on fire with your passion!!!!!

I LOVE Leslie! I still can't get over how much we have in common. Its all the little things that amaze me....right down to the Hello Kitty stickers on our identical model cell phones. Her friendship is just one more example of the good things...no....wonderful things that I have had come into my life since I started dancing. I feel like I've known Leslie for a lifetime. She's sweet and beautiful and smart and so talented. We have so much to look forward to. And she is the BEST travel companion evah!!! I don't know what I would do without her!! Its a great feeling to know that I can pick up the phone and be able to talk to her for hours....yup...hours! You have no idea how happy I am to have a speaker phone on my cell :)
Typical dialogue in phone convo between Diana and Leslie~
Diana: Wow, I just burned my finger with the hot glue trying to get this shell on my headband!
Leslie: Yeah, I just smacked my hand on the coffee table trying to rip off the applique from this skorset belt! What the hell was I thinking putting that on there!
Diana: I don't know but I'm hungry and I have no food in the house.
Leslie: Me too but I don't want to eat this late (1:30am). Maybe I'll have some cereal.
Diana: Me too.
Yep...silly long phone conversations :) You have no idea how much we have to say and its the best!
Leslie is the bomb, nuff said!

A woman was gossiping with a friend about a man she hardly knew— I know none of you have ever done this—that night she had a dream. A great hand appeared over her and pointed down at her. She was immediately seized with an overwhelming sense of guilt. The next day she went to confession.
She got the old parish priest, Father O’Rourke, and she told him the whole thing. “Is gossiping a sin?” she asked the old man. “Was that the hand of God Almighty pointing a finger at me? Should I be askin...

Phenomenal Woman
Pretty women wonder where my secret lies.
I'm not cute or built to suit a fashion model's size
But when I start to tell them,
They think I'm telling lies.
I say,
It's in the reach of my arms
The span of my hips,
The stride of my step,
The curl of my lips.
I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal woman,
That's me.
I walk into a room
Just as cool as you please,
And to a man,
The fellows stand or
Fall down on their knees.
Then they swarm around me,
A hive of ...

The workshop and 'Guedra' I participated in over in Erie PA last night, has inspired me to make this 'blog' entry. Though I no longer blog here on Tribe, as I stick to my LiveJournal and FaceBook, I feel this is something people can really benefit from -- maybe even find inspiration in, that will lead them to want to learn more, or find a way to participate.
Enjoy
