~flattery will get you everywhere~

September 11, 2007
One of the most beautiful women I know. Radiance from all directions. I trust her with my reality and she never lets me down. Love you more then you know.

Sarah is the pimptress whom many only wish to be
November 11, 2005
Sara shows me how to shine more brightly. Like the great mother goddess Gaia she is a silent, but powerful teacher who has had a great influence on me, for which I'll always be greatful.

What a sweet, sweet soul. She just glows from the inside out!
August 14, 2005
Simply put, a goddess who still thinks she's just a statue. I love her and hate her with all the passion and soul scorching depth you can only feel for someone worthy of the title of soul mate. She is the other half of my world. The bright sun that scorches away the frozen wilderness of my lunar reign and brings about the life only a true star can bring. Some times we hide from each other on opposite sides of the earth. Some times we eclipse one another forgeting that only through our coexistance do tides raise and ebb and that we have been together for so long that our whole world would parrish if not for the electrifing gravity that holds us together. And sometimes we just shine made every bit brighter by one anothers glare floating effortlessly in an embrace so powerful it brings life to all who feel it. In other words...well... she's beyond any I know.

The Alibi Room
( local favorites » restaurants ) "Worst Wait Staff in the City" I don't know what it is. Every time I go into this place, the food is good, the drinks excellent, but the whole experience is soured by the surly, slow, cocky, wait staff. I am nice to them. I tip well. I am not a pain in the ass. Yet, I and ... read more

~random musings & superfluous complaints

Many of you know, and some of you may not know, that I have been working for the past year with Open Flame Dance Theater on our premier performance: Ignition. The performance is coming up on August 1 & 2, and I want you to be there!

This is not your average fire show, ladies and gentlemen. This is beautiful, complex, professional dance choreography from our director, Rachel Närhi -- who spans the gap between professional dancer and fire performer. This is a style of dance never seen b... read more

Hi all,

I'm moving on Sunday and Monday to the apartment below mine in the same house. I am not very good at asking for help, but I'm in a bit of a predicament here.

WHAT I NEED: I need some very basic help moving, since it's all within the same house. My roommates are all in finals right now, and a person I had lined up to help is now not available, so that's where you (hopefully?) come in.

I mainly need help from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Sunday. I need to move a bed, desk, o... read more

*4 days in a cabin in the Montana wilderness
*random super-friendly rottweilers that you meet in the woods and play fetch with.
*Seeing a flock of mysterious and gorgeous birds you have never encountered before.
*A snowman in the middle of a frozen lake.
*Spending the day reading, writing, sketching, and playing the guitar.
*Finally learning how to operate the wood stove without filling the cabin with smoke.
*Learning that the world will not fall apart if I remove myself from it for a c... read more

I'm reminded of what it feels like to be "Too cold to snow"
Spinning cookies in the middle of the parking lot is just as fun as I remember it.
My mom cooks good pumpkin pie.
People here drink a lot. My liver is not pleased.
My truck deserves a championship awesomeness award for making it here over three mountain passes and through the cold and snow. It especially rocks for starting at -5 degrees.

like news, but less depressing

Shahram Sharif of ITIran.com blogd, "Last week one of wide street TV in central of karaj shows porn pics for 10 min mistakenly , police banned TV and arrested people who link." More importantly, here's a YouTube video shot on the scene by someone who sounds young and profoundly amused. (thanks, Cyrus)...

Gee. If only I could figure out what seems so familiar about the cover art (larger size jpeg) on Rick Smolan's new book, Blue Planet Run: The Race to Provide Safe Drinking Water to the World. All hijinx aside, it looks like a very interesting read, and I'm ordering a copy....

Bob says: I just saw the BBtv post about Mark's guitar amp, and thought I'd share my similar project. It's also based on the LM386 although the circuit is a little different (and sounds way better). To save time and cost for anyone wanting to make this amp I offer either a bare PCB, or a simple parts kit (including PCB). This is available at my online store. There are also some video examples of the Minty Amp in action. Link...

Boing Boing reader Sibyl alerted us to this 75-page article on "copyfraud," by Jason Mazzone. Assistant Professor of Law, Brooklyn Law School. From the abstract: Copyfraud is everywhere. False copyright notices appear on modern reprints of Shakespeare's plays, Beethoven's piano scores, greeting card versions of Monet's Water Lilies, and even the U.S. Constitution. Archives claim blanket copyright in everything in their collections. Vendors of microfilmed versions of historical newspapers assert copyright ownership. These false copyright claims, which are often accompanied by threatened litigation for reproducing a work without the owner's permission, result in users seeking licenses and paying fees to reproduce works that are free for everyone to use. Copyright law itself creates strong incentives for copyfraud. The Copyright Act provides for no civil penalty for falsely claiming ownership of public domain materials. There is also no remedy under the Act for individuals who wrongly refrain from legal copying or who make payment for permission to copy something they are in fact entitled to use for free. While falsely claiming copyright is technically a criminal offense under the Act, prosecutions are extremely rare. These circumstances have produced fraud on an untold scale, with millions of works in the public domain deemed copyrighted, and countless dollars paid out every year in licensing fees to make copies that could be made for free. Copyfraud stifles valid forms of reproduction and undermines free speech. Link...

Popular Science is running a Christmas special with a bunch of internet folks talking about the gadgets they lust for. I would like to drink eggnog with all of these people in one room, that would be fun: Jimmy Wales (Wikipedia), Amanda Congdon, Kevin Rose (Digg), Wil Wheaton (arch-nerd), Ray Kurzweil (futurist), Chris Burke (musician), Daniel Lyon (Fake Steve Jobs), Nolan Bushnell (Atari), Matt Harding (Internet Filmmaker), Timothy Ferris (4-Hour Work Week), Jonathan Coulton (Musician), Phil Torrone (MAKE), Dave Prochnow (How 2.0 Blogger/Builder), and me and Mark from Boing Boing and Boing Boing tv.
