1. women...



Dude. Chicks are interesting beasts. We behave (at least in 'modern western culture') with a subtly different attitude in packs than men. More under-the-rug type stuff. I grew up with four brothers in the middle of the woods, as daddy's little girl... so all this girl stuff mystifies me. Also, they're good to look at. :>



2. weirdness...



The random moments that keep life entertaining! Gotta love those.



3. bmezine...

4. bad movies...



A taste I inherited from my father. I am the proud, proud owner of nearly the entire cannon of Ed Wood films- I'm only missing one (which will be remedied, sooooooon!). I very much enjoy a large bowl of popcorn and a seriously bad flick to throw popcorn at.



5. reality...



Not always necessarily what it seems. And I *love* that we all perceive it differently.



6. trees...



These are becoming far too few. The family lore states that my family moved from Los Angeles when one of my brothers pointed to a telephone pole and asked "mommy- is that a tree?". So I give them all the love and attention I can.



7. truffles...



Not the chocolate variety (although those are tasty as well) but the Fungal sort. Oregon has, as a not-so-well kept secret, its own personal stash of the lovely little flavorific bombs, in both white and black. A few shavings of these...a few drops of the oil... well, we all have to eat, why not Enjoy doing so?

There's something really nifty about waking up in the morning after a night of debauchery with great friends.... and no after effects. All hail the mighty Emergen-C!!

And I am, as of 6pm tonight, no longer in my 20's.... whew! Glad THAT's over with!

Depression sucks. It just fizzles in and settles for a while. My Dad died last thursday. He was surrounded by people he loved- mom held his hand, I was at his shoulder, my boy was at mine, and Dad's best friend was there as well. It was a horrible, horrible, horrible sounding death- all night he'd been up, sounding like he was drowning, and there was nothing any of us could do. I was actually talking about the fucking bird feeder needing to be refilled when he died because I was so damned unhappy I couldn't focus on the even at hand. And when he just - stopped- it was ok. It was like he died and life went on around him.



The worst things, the things that still keep me up at night crying or with nightmares- are that 1> I'm pretty sure he was at least *partially* aware, which makes me sad- he had been so afraid, I really had holped he would be just asleep, and 2> the last few days of decline. I was there, with the aforementioned crew, for the week before it happened. The night I showed up, we all watched a bad movie together (Attack of the crab monsters, highly recommended BTW) and he was cracking jokes in good form. every day from then out was just a little worse- less words, less awake time, less smiles. The thing that makes me *reallY* lose it is the memory of my dad, who was a hell of a FORCE in life, superimposed on those last mumbling days and feeding him water with a TEASPOON.
