Two years ago, our dear friend Marie was taken from us. She really was always so full of life! It sounds like a bad VH1 story. She had really turned her life around. Had stopped drinking, was going to school for a new career and was just about to move into a nice new place. Then tragedy struck... She collapsed outside of a Yonder show in Santa Cruz. With no help from the bungling Santa Cruz police, she never recovered.

Just as a follow up to my last entry, here are some pix from my day out in the field. Really a nice area, mostly grassland/farmland but developments encroaching from all sides... I don't have any pix from when we were in the creek because I didn't want yet another camera to meet with an accident...

So get this - I got a j-o-b! Well, for Friday at least... The guy that I had worked for in the past called and asked if I wanted to work on Friday. Sure, why not... Except it way out the hell in Antioch (at least 1.5 hrs with NO traffic!) But it will be good to get out again. We will be surveying a 50 acre site to see what is there. Preliminary report looks like potential for three - five endangered/threatened species! Verrry interesting!

one long ago night at the yankme there were all these freaks in teamyost headbands and rather than duck and cover as I was advised by my um advisors, I found myself eerily drawn to it, to this spectacle of yost, and I thought wtf what is yost?
is it a new beverage fritz is slinging?
am I so old it is some new hip drug lingo I'm not grokking?
a new hot local band?
surely I am missing out!
I can't even remember the band that played that night, fer christsakes, I just remember yost.
you are a cult I think. I couldn't really read the fine print on those documents I signed.

What can I say about the Gregman? Met him on a plane on the way back from Portland SCI NYE 2000. Being still in party mode and squirting silly string and blowing up balloons, I noticed that one passenger didn't seem put off, but rather midly interested. Greg! I think he joined Norcal shortly after. Love you man!

Greg is absolutely one of my favorite humans I've ever met. He is so genuine, caring and kind, he emanates goodness. I always look forward to seeing him and am so happy to have a friend like him in my life.

Wasn't Yosemite a gas! I can't wait for the 2nd annual. What do you call a bunch of Butter Brained people on a bus? well, I don't know, but the bus ceases to be a bus and becomes a butter tray!!
