The moment I met Mizu I smiled deeply. Somewhere in my body I recognized a sister. Through time I have been blessed to share many powerful and tender experiences with this divine woman. I honor them all and thank her for living by example, for being raw and real with the nagual and channeling stories that need to be given life, for inspiration & so much laughter. She is the only artist whose work has brought me to tears shaking with healing release. She is my teacher, sister and friend. I love Mizu deeply.

What kind of cosmic array is this?
Sometimes i think you are gonna bite me, and other times I think you made the moon out of ice cream. Sometimes I feel as though i miss you, like missing the source of spirit, somewhere in the great void. And Sometimes I think you've found heaven, as you show it to everyone.
Sometimes I think you're an android, and Sometimes I think you've mastered the alchemy of life.
Sometimes I want to be like you, and sometimes I like being me so i can behold you.
Mizu, you are a major pillar in this world. A world where sometimes things don't make sense. You make sense. You have ALWAYS made sense to me in a world that sometimes doesn't.
The point of sometimes is that its ALWAYS changing at the same time that it arrives. I see great sync in you. Mizu you ride the cutting edge of conscious. You are everything and nothing and sometimes a little inbetween. You're mind is like a 4 wheeler on the sands of consciousness, thanks for blazing a trail, cause sometimes we get lost. Its a joy to know you and be in your presence.
Its ALWAYS good to see you and ALWAYS good to be awake around you. When you are around I simply feel good, and thats a gift beyond gifts. These are Some amazing Times.

I love you!
xoxo

Miss.Mizu.......sometimes i am stunned out of breathing, struck dumb and captivated by the strength in her movement ...other times i want to hold her in a soft quiet place and stroke her hair through the fragility that sometimes accompanies woman.... she is at once teacher, lover, healer, seeker, traveler, instigator and dancer.... but most important and first she is my friend.

Don't you hear it? she asked & I shook my head no & then she started to dance & suddenly there was music everywhere & it went on for a very long time & when I finally found words all I could say was thank you.

Dynamic, bombastic, refined and demure - these are but a few choice words to describe this happy and creative whirlwind of a Being. Mizu takes the world by the balls and juggles.

Don't change a thing, Doll. You are an inspiration for all of us.

There's no one I can think of that has persuaded me to do more things that I've never done than Mizu..... things like nude photography, red ruffle panties, shirtcocking (if ya don't know get out of the house more), kissing piepo (and he needed to shave bad), led around blindfolded, hanging from a crane 80ft in the air above 3000 people, the white procession, and lets not forget liking sushi.....
She is also one the most expressive dancers I've had the honor of witnessing, a delicate balance of dark and light on the razors edge. Her level of commitment is staggering and as I write this she is on tour in France.
Mizu is also one the the worlds premier snorklers (and I don't mean underwater), her infectious laugh has spread throughout many galaxies which is why abductions are down right now.
But in my opinion her most valuable talent by far is the way she has helped me understand more of me. I love you Mizu......

What do you say about someone so bright that it is hard to walk into a room with her...her every move is poetry...her smile is the sunshine over the sea...her mood swings are like beautiful storm clouds that you want to watch for hours...and her biting humor like the welcoming pinch of a lover? You say MOVE OVER BITCH! cause I ain't never leavin' your side! Mizu is someone I want to know all of my days on this planet!

This weekend at the Headwaters we will be presenting a student showcase of work by the participants of Katsura Kan's workshop in Portland.

Katsura Kan is a native of Kyoto and a Master Butoh artist among the ranks of Japan's first generation of Butoh. From 1979-1981 he performed with the seminal troupe "Byakkosha" known for its austerity and integrity, rather than theatrical glamour. He is now a celebrated solo artist, collaborative performer and prolific choreographer. For the past 28 yea... read more
