Circus Tribal Bellydance Co. presents... Red Hot BELLYDANCE! Southern Oregon Bellydance Show Saturday, February 16th 2008 - 8:30 PM ATTENTION: THE VENUE HAS CHANGED!!! The show will now take place at: THE HISTORIC ASHLAND ARMORY 208 Oak Street, Ashland All ages welcome, $10 at the door Ashland's own Circus Tribal Bellydance Co. is proud to present an evening of bellydance featuring many of the finest dancers from the community and beyond. Join us to celebrate bellydance from traditional to experimental! Buy raffle tickets for $1 each to win prizes including bellydance classes! All raffle proceeds are going towards sponsoring more bellydance events in Southern Oregon. Henna body art with Mieko and lots of fun shopping will be available as well as refreshments through the Mobius Café. New beginner classes... ahhh, good start to the new year!!

The 6 week beginner session will focus on dance technique, refining the isolations that make up bellydance, gaining muscle memory, working on correct posture, stamina, speed and range. We have a pretty vigorous warm up in each class with strength, grace and flexibility building exercises. Using yogic stretching, pilates, dance conditioning and strength training, we'll find muscles you didn't know you had and learn to be proud of our strength and our bodies while improving dace skill, stamina and core strength. Join us and learn to strengthen your body and self worth! Class is taught by Emily, artistic director of Circus Tribal. She currently teaches six weekly classes in Ashland and Medford in addition to various workshops and private lessons. Her unique style not only encompasses the many styles of Middle Eastern and North African dance, but also embraces the many inspirations within American culture, creating a dance that can be old or new, ethnic or urban, something for everyone.Believing there will always be something more to learn, Emily hopes to be a life-long student to this dance form. Being inspired by the myriad of influences touching Middle Eastern dance from traditional to revolutionary, she continues to study intensely with many talented teachers and spreads her love for dance through performance and teaching.
