I Have A New Place!

Hey..thanks to everyone who made room offers, but I NOW HAVE AN APARTMENT. I signed a lease today over at Landshire, a nice little complex over on the corner of South 2nd and Cardinal. $535 a month, all bills paid minus electricity, roomy, and south. I'm just down from all the cool stuff on South 1st. I'll be moving in on Monday. Now I just need to start furnishing it..shit, i wish I had a truck. I have the small Volvo my father is giving to me, but that does'nt have a fold down seat, so I can only fit small stuff, and I've got no experience trying to carry things like matresses on top of small sedans. I'll figure something out I guess.

I Need A Place To Live!

Friends,

I will soon be graduating (geesh, that took fucking long enough) and working fulltime, and as I will no longer be in school, I need a new hovel. If any of you can point me in the direction of cheap (under $500) apartments available around December 10th or shortly after, i'd be super appreciative. So far I've been unsuccessful and i'm a bit frustrated.

The Sleeper Has Awakened

Well, that was the most life changing thing I've ever purposely undertaken.

Quite a substance that is.

Thanks to everyone for their assistance.

I feel changed as a person..it was beautiful, ecstatic, challenging, and liberating all in one, and while I doubt I'll ever really do that again, I am not sorry I did it. I now know the limits and beyond of my own mind and the nature of time and self and what it's like to step outside both concepts for a period of time. I only wish everyone could feel as much love for themselves and others as I did at the peak of the experience-it's probably one of the most spiritual sensations one can have-of universal limitless connectedness to all living things. Perhaps if we all were able to see that we could stop hurting ourselves, one another, the planet and our future. Knowing that this is possible on an individual level, even if only temporarily, gives me a sense of hope for the future.

Strange Fruit

So since everyone's asking:

I am currently in love with a rather remarkable girl..she makes me very happy.

Last night she asked me how I know I'm in love with her, and I answered that I know because it alters you. It's like a really good trip. Everything's there,but this time it's THERE. And you see everything you never noticed before that was right in front of you, with crystal clarity. You see that for all the darkness in the world, all the fucked up shit people do, all the war and death and despair and anger and violence and deceit and treachery and hate,this is still a beautiful place, a beautiful stage for the longest play you will ever be in, and it does'nt matter if you know the lines, because everyone else is ad lib'ing. You stop forcing things and let them be. You speak with almost surgical precision because your heart knows what you are trying to say. You accept absurdity, and revel in it. You trip over yourself because you're trying to walk and fly at the same time. You forgive. You remember what you've forgotten, and forget what you did'nt need to hold on to. You hope more, and fear less.

Love sustains. Love survives. Did you know that a baby, if not held, can waste away? That plants respond positively to loving thoughts, and wilt and die with persistent negative thoughts directed at them? Love is a necessary component for survival. MLK was right, either we love, or we perish.

So, Love. And Be Loved.

A Dose Of Owl Medicine

I had what you might call a metaphysical experience last night.

It started with the feeling of levitating out of my bed. "Okay, this must be a lucid dream" I said to myself. So I pinched myself hard. I felt it. Then I realized I was seperating from my physical body, and found myself rising up into the sky-then I found myself in the middle of a street that looked like somewhere in New England. A women came walking towards me, literally appearing out of nowhere. "Welcome, I was wondering when you'd get here" she said. Then with a sudden thought, I asked "Can I see my dream guardian?" She looked at me and smiled. "Of course."

So we walked toward this big old Victorian house. Inside she took me up a flight of stairs and down a long hall to a white door. She opened it. And old woman with long, stringy gray hair sat on a rec chair. As we came in, a younger girl who seemed to be a assistant/attendant got up to leave "Let me talk alone with this man" she said. She motioned for me to sit down. "Now that you are here, I can see you have alot to get off your chest. You feel stuck and surrounded by a very strong, negative energy that has hurt you and many people. I see that you have come to ask me if I can help you. I can and I can't. I cannot change these people for you. But I can release this energy from you, if you want to be released from it." Then all of a sudden an owl materialized and landed on her shoulder. "I am giving you owl medicine to aid you..and this.." as she said that, her face changed to a mask of Hon, the Bear Kachina I had seen carvings of in Arizona. She reached forward and touched my head, and I felt a very strong, almost electric shock sort of feeling. Her face changed back to normal, and she stood up. "Go" she said, and I found myself floating back through the night sky and then with a pop I was back in my body, and I woke up. I Googled "Owl Medicine." This is what it brought up:

Owl works in mysterious ways, she rarely seems to answer directly, more often indirectly or through the negative. Owl's magic is shown through illuminating the dark, all that which is unseen, hidden from view, or lying in shadows. Owl medicine is particularly relevant in relation to Dreams.

Owl is generally associated with Feminine energies; creativity, sensitivity, awareness of things not yet in form, and magic. How Owl relates to individuals and the messages she brings can only be determined by each person, or with the help of a Spirit Guide. Most often the message will come in one of two forms.

One is regarding the hidden realms within the individual. Are you self-aware? Are you hiding something from yourself? Are there core aspects of your shadow nature you have not looked into, or maybe are afraid to look into? The second would be in terms of relations with others around you. Owl calls you to keep a keen eye for deception. This could be in immediate relations or a reference to people outside your direct sphere, maybe those in more public roles, like politics and business.

Above all, Owl calls us to be diligent and observant, of ourselves and of others. She asks us to look into our own potential for deception as well as our potential for creation. Owl is a messenger of Prophecy. For some, Owl shows up to inform us of the future, as the future lies in the Shadow of the Unknown from our current perspective. Here Owl directs us to look forward, to envision something not yet manifest, and to take appropriate action now to foster it's creation.

Presently, Owl is sitting in the West. This is where her Magic is particularly acute. In the west, Owl is a shapeshifter and a master of adaptation. This is yet another skill Owl brings us, the ability to adapt to changing circumstances. Because of great observation abilities, Owl can move and adjust precisly according to new information. Here Owl shows us again that by being acutely aware of our surroundings we can shift ourselves smoothly (mentally, physically, emotionally) as we move through ever changing social terrains.

Hatching Some Plans

So..I feel like organizing an ambient campout..somewhere in a forested area..maybe even the Enchanted Forest (I am acquaintences with Andrea B.)or some place like that. I'd like to get some local ambient/IDM artists and DJ's to come and spin/perform, have a firepit maybe..it's just an idea and would require money, time and a location, but I think it would be fun, and nobody's done one in the Austin area to my knowledge. Anyone interested? Let me know.
