Faith and Sex

   Fri, July 17, 2009 - 6:06 AM
I’m proud to be offering a presentation called “Faith and Sex,” as part of ErosFestNW, Portland’s first-ever erotic arts festival happening Aug. 6-9. My event is at 10 a.m. until noon on Saturday. I’d love you to come.

During my presentation I’ll provide solutions for the disconnect people of faith, especially from the Christian tradition, have with their sexual selves. This one area probably causes more personal crises for people than any other area in one’s faith. It is time to stop viewing sexuality as a peril, pitfall, or temptation and begin embracing it as a powerful and extraordinarily personal way God loves us.

ErosFest is a festival to open channels for the curious, the adventurous and the outright bold to come together to be entertained, and awed by each other and a cadre of talented, learned and esteemed artists, dancers, teachers and culinary specialists. Edgy but tasteful - with opportunities to explore, play, and participate as fully desired without pressure or judgement.

The festival invites everyone to participate, whether straight, gay, or somewhere in-between; whether kinky or vanilla, and people with disabilities ("other-enabled"). Eroticism is different for everyone, and ErosFestNW celebrates it all!
