Mr. E and I had a pretty rough start. He pissed me off with some vegan-bashing, I slashed back--and before I knew it I was in the middle of my first Internet flame war. It was startling and scary in its intensity, unbeknownst to me fueled by his attempt to quit smoking.
But then I saw him at the Pennys' house. "You must be Mr. E," I said. "Yeah...?" he said. I identified myself--and he just gave me this huge warm hug. Ever since then, I have thought he totally rocks. Even when I pissed him off yet again by squirting him in the face with a squirt gun at Fuente. He could have been a total dick about it, but he wasn't. He told me what he didn't like; and then he checked with me to see if our communication was OK (even though he was still annoyed). I guess it helps that I kinda like edgy folks; but I think he's a cool cat. and how could you not love those Burner outfits? His bikinis are much better than mine! Thanks Matt, for bein' you.

All the coolest Matt's in the room say woooooo! MrE is something special. We've had some of the best times together, that I think I've ever had in Southern California (or Mexico for that matter.) Hope to see more of you in the new year.

Mr. E refused to be my friend until I got him a bloody mary. The jokes on him though, it was a Bloody Maria.

I have come to testify to this wonderful friend's generosity, love, and awesomeness in general. Hear me bitches!! Because this awesome man has decided, by stroke to my own luck, to take me under his umbrella of who he calls "beautiful friend." Thus, I can bear witness to his talent for making one feel just amazing about oneself by his frank compliments and teasing witticisms.
You are just fucking amazing, darling! Thank you, 'cause for some reason you're very good at reminding me just who I am, and that's such a rare beautiful quality. :)

Running into this bright beautiful being at Fuente was icing on the cake. Always offering smiles and hugs. Sweetness through and through. Love you gorgeous!

Freq Nasty opened his set at LIB with these words by Saul Williams:
We believe that as people living
in the United States it is our
responsibility to resist the injustices
done by our government,
in our names
Not in our name
will you wage endless war
there can be no more deaths
no more transfusions
of blood for oil
Not in our name
will you invade countries
bomb civilians, kill more children
letting history take its course
over the graves of the nameless
Not in our name
will you erode the very freedoms
you have claimed to fight for
Not by our hands
will we supply weapons and funding
for the annihilation of families
on foreign soil
Not by our mouths
will we let fear silence us
Not by our hearts
will we allow whole peoples
or countries to be deemed evil
Not by our will
and Not in our name
We pledge resistance
We pledge alliance with those
who have come under attack
for voicing opposition to the war
or for their religion or ethnicity
We pledge to make common cause
with the people of the world
to bring about justice,
freedom and peace
Another world is possible
and we pledge to make it real.

Re: Psytrance? Elysium? Maybe NOT at 5am?
(in Elysium Midsummer Festival 08)
Psytrance is fine, but just like everything else, there is a time and a place.
It's all about flow and playing to the crowd. If there are 30 people jammin' on the dance floor, high-energy, high bpm music makes sense. If there are 4 people kin...

"Got a trailer hitch? You NEED one of these..."
First of all, I have no affiliation with the company, I just wish I did because the product is sheer genius...
It's a combination lock little drawer "safe" that fits in any standard 2" trailer hitch reciever. There's enough room for two cards ...

Ok, so Jenny and I are supposed to quit smoking on Feb. 1. We made a pact on Saturday night. Unfortunately, the hypnotist another friend recommended is in Costa Mesa...
Does anyone know of a GOOD hypnotist in the LA area (Valley is fine, just not OC...)?
TIA,
mr e

As some of you may know, I loaned my company's InFocus LP70 projector to the cause for Lost Toys and some bastard stole it. It's my fault and I accept full responsibility, but there is a real dick out there somewhere...
Anyway, I've stalled as long as I could and it hasn't turned up. The time has come and I must face the music - in this case, it looks like it's going to be about $1,200 to replace.
Does anyone have any connections that we might be able to take advantage of? Maybe the ...
