<div>Ok, so Jenny and I are supposed to quit smoking on Feb. 1. We made a pact on Saturday night. Unfortunately, the hypnotist another friend recommended is in Costa Mesa...

Does anyone know of a GOOD hypnotist in the LA area (Valley is fine, just not OC...)?

Stolen: InFocus LP70 Projector - Need replacement...

<a href="http://people.tribe.net/mr_e/blog/8af6067e-17d0-40c3-bb61-7a178cca6e74"> <img class=" picThumb" src="http://images.tribe.net/tribe/upload/photo/0a1/573/0a1573fc-151b-4c39-b3ad-7bab71cf0308.thumb" width="65" height="48" alt="" />
    </a>
<div>As some of you may know, I loaned my company's InFocus LP70 projector to the cause for Lost Toys and some bastard stole it. It's my fault and I accept full responsibility, but there is a real dick out there somewhere...

Anyway, I've stalled as long as I could and it hasn't turned up. The time has come and I must face the music - in this case, it looks like it's going to be about $1,200 to replace.

Does anyone have any connections that we might be able to take advantage of? Maybe the universe could provide us with a nice used one...

Any help would be appreciated.

<div>"You've got to embrace your inner freak... Becasue the only thing you'll regret... is denying who you really are..."

At the risk of getting a huge rash of shit for watching network television or any television at all, I'll admit that I've been TiVo'ing NBC's "Heros" from the gate and I'm into it. 'Nuff said.

The context: The Cheerleader is talking to her new de-facto best friend, who was just publicly called gay by the most popular girl in school, after she lost the homecoming crown to The Cheerleader in a surprise upset.

Boy: "I'm not embarrassed by it. I know who I am. I like who I am. I like who you are. I just wish that YOU liked who you are."

Cheerleader: "I'm finally realizing who my friends really are, and that maybe being different isn't the end of the world. It's just who I am."

Boy: "Exactly! You've got to embrace your inner freak... Becasue the only thing you'll regret... is denying who you really are..."

The writer/creator of the show is Tim King, he may or may not be the actual writer of those words, but he's getting the writing credit for them, as far as I can tell.

Yes, it's TV, but Truth is Truth, no matter who speaks it.

<div>As some of you told me, going to New Zealand wasn't too bad. I adjusted within about 24 hours. Coming back SUCKS!! After about 3 hours of crappy sleep on the plane, I arrived in LA and went to Turo's to try to help work on the RLD art car. I lasted about 5 hours, then I went home to crash at 6 PM last night. I slept until about midnight, was up until 3AM or so, then I went back to sleep. Now I've slept for over 10 hours and I'm still totally cracked out!

I don't know if I shoud sleep some more or get up and try to power it out.

Jet Lag SUCKS! But it's good to be home, and even better to be preparing to go HOME.

    </a>
<div>If you pull into a parking lot and there's only one other car in the parking lot, park right next it.

I thought, "I don't want a door ding, so I'm going to park across from the car..."

That's what I did.
In my brand new car.
The first brand new car I've ever bought.
It was 48 hours old.
It doesn't even have license plates yet.

And the cute little Asian girl backed her boyfriend's Nissan Armada right into the left rear corner of my brand new car. She had the whole parking lot to manuever around, and she backed right into me.

So much for my brand new car. C'est la vie. It's a car. I love it, but it's a car. I'll get over it, but I had to vent just a little...

Does anyone have any experience working with Mercury insurance? Do I have a right to choose the body shop, or do I have to go where they send me? What about a rental car? Do they have to rent me a comparable car, or do I have to take whatever they give me?

<div>"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.

Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.

It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us.

We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and fabulous?

Actually, who are you not to be?

You are a child of God.

Your playing small doesn't serve the world.

There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you.

We are all meant to shine, as children do.

We are born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.

It's not just in some of us, it's in everyone.

And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.

As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."

- Maryanne Williamson **

**I was apparently under the common misconception that this quote was from a speech given by Nelson Mandela, but a quick Google points to several sites that not only attribute the quote to Maryanne Williamson, but go so far as to claim he never even said it...

http://www.geocities.com/fascin8or/mandela.htm

Truth is Truth, no matter who speaks it.

Think of what can happen when WE all do that.

<div>I'm 37 years old/young. I am HAPPY. My life is GOOD. A quiet evening at home with a nice Chardonnay. I am feeling INSPIRED. I feel great PASSION in my life. I have a BURNING DESIRE to SHARE with my friends three quotes that have each had different meanings at different times in my life, and they are all coming together in a magical way tonight:

1. From my Hight School Senior page (It was all about passion back then):

"There's a time to live and a time to die,
And each one has to do alone and in his own way.
That's why you have to love those worth loving like there's no tommorrow
Because when you think about it...
There isn't"

- Vision Quest (yeah, Madonna's first movie, but a beautiful quote nonetheless...)

From a lesser-known book by a hugely famous author I read in my early 20's:

"Up to a point a man's life is shaped by environment, heredity, and movements and changes in the world about him. Then there comes a time when it lies within his grasp to shape the clay of his life into the sort of thing he wishes to be. Only the weak blame their parents, their race, their times, lack of good fortune, or the quirks of fate. Everyone has it within his power to say, "This I am today; that I will be tomorrow."
-Louis L'Amour, The Walking Drum

And finally, the quote with which I have closed most of my personal and professional emails for the last few months:

"Here's to the crazy ones.

  The misfits.

    The rebels.

      The troublemakers.

The round pegs in the square holes.

The ones who see things differently.

They're not fond of rules.

And they have no respect for the status quo.

You can praise them, disagree with them, quote them,

disbelieve them, glorify or vilify them.

About the only thing you can't do is ignore them.

      Because they change things.

They invent. They imagine. They heal.

They explore. They create. They inspire.

They push the human race forward...

Because the people who are crazy enough to think
they can change the world, are the ones who do."

-Apple Computer

I don't want to be overly dramatic (Yes, I do. I wouldn't be blogging it for all you freaks if I wasn't a drama queen...), but a few things clicked for me tonight...

WE are going to change the world. I am READY. Are YOU?

WHAT CAN I GIVE? (as opposed to: "Where's mine?")

HOW CAN I? (as opposed to: "I can't...")

Stay Tuned...

Singularity - Better than Burning Man?

<div>Dare I say it? It was for me. I grant that it has a lot to do with what's going on in my life now vs. what was going on last year, but Singualrity was at least as inspirational as Burning Man was, but without the enormous scale, overwhelming plethora of choices and intimidation factor. I think I actually saw ALL of the art. I did visit every camp I wanted to and I did everything I wanted to except for missing out on the Vortex. I felt a MUCH greater sense of community. Aside from strengthening bonds with the people I went with, I must have met and had meaningful interactions with 20 new people.

Thank You to Athena, Cameron, Pebbles and Bam Bam and all the other organizers. I think the layout of the city was **just right**, portos were availabel and well maintained (even Sunday afternoon after most had left). Mark Hinckley should get some tips from you guys about how to organize a large scale event.

Thanks to my Nuke Fam, who graciously adopted me, kept me cool, fed, hydrated and entertained. A great mix of old friends and new; Ernest, Dale, Lulie, Big D, Firefly, Nick, Doug, Jonathan, Ashley, Jessica, Joanna, Bren and Jaz - You are all such good people and it's a joy to hang out with you.

Ranger Beauty, Ranger Bunny, Shiho, Jet Lag, Sasquatch and the rest of the fuckin' rangers, Thanks for keeping us safe ;-)

Del and Demi from Incendiary Circus - Hell everyone from Utah, you guys just inspire me to be and do MORE.

Tedward, you're a stellar wingman, and Austin, words don't really do you justice, but we'll go with Amazing - on SO MANY levels...

I just want to thank everyone who showed the effort and came out. Every single one of you made it happen, and even if we didn't meet, it wouldn't have been the same if YOU weren't there.

I will absolutely be there next year, and I hope that YOU are too... Yes YOU!

I'm in a New York State of Mind...

<div>Yep, Billy's singing in the background. I'm in New York City early on St. Patrick's Day, just got back to my hotel... I LOVE it here. I would move here in a heartbeat - funny, "Moving Out" just started... Hmmm...

So, business-wise, I've managed a full recovery after a significant stumble coming out of the blocks. I'll spare the boring details and just tell you the software was a little confused about what time zone we were in. My super amazing software engineers in LA fixed it quickly and the Producers and Assistant Directors are excited about using the new software and they're going to transition over starting Monday morning.

A co-worker introduced me to his sister and her friends the other night and I had one of the best evenings in recent memory. Going out in New York is just so much different than in LA. I had the best time with a bunch of people I'd just met...

One of my best friends lives here and I have had a great time playing poker with his friends and taking ALL their money...

There's nothing like walking in Central Park on Saturday afternoon. Again, something that just doesn't happen in LA.

I have a great tip for anyone who might be coming here soon: http://hopstop.com - Subway and Bus directions, door-to-door. It rocks! I'm now able to navigate with total certainty.

I'm super glad that Piscean Love Fest (or Passion Party, or whatever they're calling it this year...) was postponed, I would have hated to miss it, as it was a seminal event on the road the eventually led me to Black Rock City.

It's St. Patty's Day and I'm going to grab a few Z's before I venture out into the City in my awesome green fur coat...

Thanks for the kind words and well wishes, I should be back in LA Wednesday or Thursday.

Peace, Love and FIRE!

<div>I'm super lazy when it comes to downloading and uploading my pictures, but I finally got around to it.

These include Lucent Lamour 2 and the Space Island After, The Red Loft Farewell (or whatever it was called, it rocked except for the theif!) and finally a few pics from CNY wrap party. So, if I snapped your pic in the last month, take a look through my profile. If you see something you like, lemme know and I'll send you the full-sized image.
