I love her.
Upon our first meeting I remember thinking "Who's the hottie passed out next to Kitty on Shernie's bed?"
Upon our second meeting, I remember thinking "Who is this person - this beautiful, mysterious woman who is so goddam ALPHA? And why (contrary to most experience up until that point) am I so drawn to her?"
And up on our third meeting, it was simply "Whoa. Moni's the shit, yo."
There are a handful of people I'd walk through glass for, and Miss Monica Fine is one of them. I'm not talking little thin pieces of a wine glass - I'm talking about the thick vicious shards you get from the broken bottoms of wine bottles. On the surface (and waaaay below the surface) she's a clown - a laughing counterpoint to the gravity in your life - a painted burlesque diva with a heart of bright shining platinum, and as muthafuckin real as they come.
I have found Monica to be most surprising and insightful when I am at my most negative. She is one of those people who will not follow you down the staircase into the basement of negativity, and instead holds open the door to light your path back to ground level.
I appreciate the lovely Moni in my life - I can safely (and without too much sap, thank you) say that she has made a positive difference in who I am today.

singing the praises of the fabulous ms fine is hard to do... because you make yourself redundant.
I'll say that she's taught me a lot about maturity, love, acceptance, and humility.
She's also a brilliant fireball of light in my life and i LOVE it when we share space.
not to mention, she's fucking gorgeous and can rock a stage or a dancefloor like nobody's business.
Solid as steel. Fluid as alcohol. Trippy as an oil slick.
all in all, yes, rather fine.

Some people perform parlour tricks and brag that they're magicians. On the other hand, some people can smile quietly and manifest real magick. Monica's magick is genuine and comes from her heart. The better I get to know her, the more I admire her beauty, intelligence and especially her strength. I'm so lucky that she considers me her friend. Having Monica in my life is a blessing.
