What the critics are raving about

May 15, 2007
It's been a long time since I talked to her but I still remember her as being amazing.

Rachel is such a lovely talented goddess~!
I feel so honored to be her friend.
She always has a smiling face and is so open welcoming with her home for wonderfully fun parties.
She is Gia incarnate (and I say that with the most respect and reverence and appreciation)
Blessed be~!

I met purity the first night I worked at faire. I will never forget how trustingly she let me corrupt her and lead her through the melting streets of faire, giggling maniacly at nothing at all, and trying desperately not to have to explain anything to anyone. She is truly someone at faire that I would consider my sister. I would sit shirtless and alone at the crossroads staring down the dancing darkness for her at the drop of a glow stick.

This is one sexy woman! And one sexy woman that I am happy to call my friend! If you are lucky enough to know her, then you know what I am talking about. She's more than meets the eye, that's for sure!

One thing I can say about Purity is she is totally awesome. We've been friends for a very long time. I never thought when I met Purity at faire, about 9 yrs ago, that she would continue to be an important figure in my life. Even though we don't spend as much time together like we use to, we still connect and know that we'll be friends forever. She is my sister, and friend, and I love that girl. So continue to kick ass, stay sweet, and party all fucking night long, woooooo hooooooo!!!!!!!

Adding Friends

I regret that right now I cannot add people to my friends list that I do not know in person or talk to regularly. Thanks for understanding.

The Life of Riley

When Tom and I started looking for a dog we had visited the Sonoma County Animal Shelter's website. There was Riley. I mentioned to Tom that he looked like my parents' dog Milo. As cute as he was, we moved on, looking at other dogs. We finally adopted a 4 mo puppy named Buddy from the SPCA (no kill shelter). He was a doll, but we quickly found out that he was dangerous. After a week with him he had bitten me 3 times and tried to attack 3 people. We had a 7 yo boy with us and we couldn't risk him getting bitten. My vet reassured me that we weren't bad for returning him. He told us that he'd be 80+lbs and a HUGE liabilty when he got older. We decided to return him.

We weren't giving up though. We wanted a dog. I was looking on petfinder.org and noticed that the mutt I had seen before was on the "URGENT" list. He was dump job and they had picked him up walking down a rural road near Geyserville. No one claimed him. The shelter had him for 3 months. Not a single person had come to look at him. They had kept him for so long (longer than any other animal) because he was such a good dog. The staff's favorite, but because he was a large, 3yo, black dog, he just didn't stand out to potential adopters. The shelter could only give him one more week.

The story broke my heart, and because I was attracted to him from the beginning, I sent Tom to go get him, sight unseen. I told Tom he was bringing him home no matter what. Monday morning, March 21st, I called the shelter, faxed them the adoption papers and Tom picked him up. It was a big risk getting this dog that we had never met, but we went for it. Tom got to the shelter and walked by Riley 3 times not even noticing him. When he finally found him, Riley showed Tom just how sweet he was. Tom squatted down and Riley came to him and sat in front of him licking his chin.

We couldn't have picked a better dog. He wasn't trained, didn't even know "sit" but after taking him to obedience classes, we quickly learned how smart he was. He's the perfect dog.

My nickname Purity was given to me when I was 18 because I was all about trouble, especially when it came to boys. Oh wait, 7 years later and I still am all about that

And I'm so excited! I love Tom SO MUCH and I am so glad we made it legal. Our wedding was FUCKING fabulous! I can't wait to see the pro photos because the non-pro ones are incredible. A big HEARTY THANKS to everyone who came to celebrate with us.

Since my hours at work were cut (again), and I have come to find out that I'm overqualified for pretty much every part time job available out there, I have decided to start making custom corsets for people.

Right now, I'm making them cheap so I can build my portfolio. So if you live in or going to visit the SF Bay Area and you're interested in a custom corset for yourself or a loved one drop me a PM.

If someone is letting you stay at their home and they cook you dinner every night, make sure to at least say "Thank you" every time. Otherwise they may stop cooking you dinner and then where will you be?

Remember, if your car is out of gas on Monday and you don't have money to put any in the tank, Tuesday you probably shouldn't try to drive from Vallejo to Antioch.

Yes, I have a new blog! And no, it's not on tribe.

A lot of you may not know, but Tom and I have really been trying to focus on living more sustainably while also reducing our overall costs. This was one of the driving factors in choosing to buy the house we did. It's the reason why we've kind of become urban farmers. We still have a lot to do to get us where we want to be and this blog is just documenting our journey so that it might help others trying to find a similar path.
