Katy's a cool chick. She is a mad woman on a sewing machine. Just kidding! ;) She creates these great bags because she's in a bag phase right now. I know I will not be able to resist much longer and buy one of her bags. They are gorgeous. Also, I should mention here that she looks incredible for being 75. Seriously, I don't know what her secret is.

Well what a funny predicament I find myself in--able to do what I actually WANT to do for work, full-time, how about that. For how much longer I know not but that's hardly the point. The circumstances, which I'll spare any readers, of my coming to this point are a mixed-bag but the end result--I really can't complain! I'm a full-time bag maker at last!!!

Sufficient to say that among other things I am going to be able to set up a WAY bigger sewing studio once I get to the other end... 
Which of course means more time for crafting...in progress, a project I started at the beginning of the summer but had to walk away from when other commitments intruded. The embroidery now finished I'm going to make it into a messenger bag...here's the embroidery part though:

Who is this congenial little fellow? My friend Miles the Zombie Sock Monkey. I ordered him from the clearly very talented Tiffany Funk at www.funkstart.etsy.com. She has a whole family of these little guys in her online store, in fabulous vibrant colors and shapes (and her customer service is lovely BTW).
