Yeah, I know. I'm always the one with the links. I've got a handful of beta invites for zeaLOG.com I have an "in" with the developer, as in, I'm married to him.
It's a site for keeping track of stuff...weight, miles logged, water you drink, cigarettes you smoke (if that's your bag, baby.), whatever you can think to keep track of. All with fancy graphing and stuff. If you're wondering where we've been and what we've been up to, here it is. :)

Saw this on my feeds today. You make your own city and then when people visit the page, improvements are made to the city. Bigger population, better buildings. I wonder what happens if you get a lot of visits, but then nothing. Does the city devolve into some tumbleweed former mill town looking place? I'm dying to find out.

In the past 3+ years, Tribe has given me...
1. new friends and a way to keep track of the old ones
2. thoughtful conversation
3. a medium for blogging
4. laughing to the point of physical pain
5. community experience that has turned into a career
6. my best friend who is now my husband. *extra points for that one
all for free.
Now, they get my $5 every month and that doesn't even BEGIN to cover it.
Thanks, guys. I really can't say it enough.

She's like my mommy, my kid sister, the wind beneath my wings, and my pretty pretty princess all in one and I love her to bits.

F*@k Sawyer, Edubya is the person you want stranded on the island with you. The Others wouldn’t have a chance against her. She got mad skillz yo! Smartest beeyotch in da hizzy! I just *know* she works black ops for the C.I.A. Do Not Attempt to thwart her, she will bend your mind like a pretzel and look like a freakin’ super model while doing it! This girl has it all! But don’t be hatin’, cuz she is also one helluva friend and confidant. Without her Tribe would be MySpace. Mwhahahaaa! *muah* Grrrl, You totally f*@kin’ RULE!!!

I'm terrible. Em has been one of my closest friends since I met her on Tribe over 2 years ago and I've never written a testimonial. Not even one. Still, that could be excused. I've been busy. How can you testimonial someone you've never met and who lives 3000 miles away?
Except that when I DID meet her in person upon moving to California in February, I found out she's even better in person. Super funny, easy going, a brilliant writer, ridiculously unphotogenic and a decent second place poker player. She's the most game person you'll ever meet with a great competitive streak. She's endless fun and the best playmate a guy could ever have. (She's clearly one of those people who became hott after her personality was formed so she's able to be super shmart, funny, and a complete nerdy goofball wrapped up in a gorgeous, albeit travel-sized, package.)
Despite all of this, no testimonial from me. That's pathetic. I can't believe she puts up with such behavior.
So, let me just say that despite her many talents and charms, she has terrible taste in who she chooses to spend time with. Tread lightly, friend.

This woman is unique in that she shoots from the heart-always. In her writing and posts I find a kindred spirit. Her tenacity, honesty, insight, kindness, intellect, humor, and integrity feel so familiar (sister!). Not everyone reacts to what life hands them with such grace. I can only imagine what kind of person she’ll be in her 40’s, because that’s when women truly come of age and she’s so much further ahead than most I know!!
Good people she is.

You are so many of the things I respect most. Kind but not falsely nice, smart but not snooty about it, great mom but not just a "mom", insightful but never in an "I know more about you than you" kind of way, a great writer but you don't correct my spelling and punctuation, if I didn't like you so much I would have to hate you you're so sickeningly great!

I’d like to share a story about how I met this fine human being, who has ALWAYS been there for me when ever I needed it, or at least had what she wanted…
It was back in ’98 when Ξ Þ µ ß ¥ @ and I really started to get to know each other. We were both waiting for a bus in Palookaville, the 34 if I recall… Anyhow, I was holding an open jar of peanut butter, and she was looking around anxiously as if waiting for something other then the bus. She kept giving me funny looks; odd looks, looks I had never received from a woman. I started to get nervous. Suddenly, she throws down her backpack screaming ‘Oh! Oh! I’ve got just the thing!’ I didn’t know what to expect, but at this point I was intrigued. She oh-so-carefully opened her pack, in which she pulled out a small wooden box. It was black and beautiful with an antique latch and lock. She dug into her pocket with sweat on her brow and tears in her eyes. From the depths of her jeans she pulls out what she was looking for – a metallic pink spork. As quick as any locksmith she opens the lock and peeks inside. She tells me “I’m going to show you something, and if you are nice, I’ll even share”. At this point I’m about ready to grab the box from her tiny hands and see what the hell all the excitement is about. “You must swear to me that you will never reveal this to anyone” she says in a whisper as she points the box at me, lifting the lid so that I can finally see what lay within. Inside there was a perfect, shiny red apple. She promptly took a knife from her pack and started delicately and deliberately carving the apple into 9 perfectly even slices, all the while, staring….staring at the jar in my hand that I had long forgotten. I got the hint at that point. We ditched the bus, went to a park, and shared in what I found to be one of her favorite joys – apples and peanut butter. From then on, when ever we hang out, I make sure to have a fresh jar of jiffy with me. I fear the end of our friendship if ever I were to forget. Though, now that I have revealed this secret….

Emily's so badassed that they named a hurricane after her!

Way back when, Emily was the first person on Tribe who, just by being who she is, convinced me that this place might be worth hanging around.
She's a splendid person to know and I feel lucky to be her friend.
