Polly is a star. It's been some time since we last spoke, but the letters are beautiful. I cherish the way I know her. A memory, a present, some future hanging in the mist,... freedom. She is as beautiful as she is complex. I never know what she's thinking. I'd love to know her well.

Day to day, my expectations and hopes for the future fluctuate wildly. Many days I feel apprehension, anxiety, etc. Some days, like today, I feel hopeful. Sometimes it just seems there is something in the air. Something which makes me a little lonely, but at the same time seems to hint at better things around the corner. I can motivate myself to improve my surroundings, improve myself. It's cold this evening, but I'm leaving the windows open. I don't want to shut out what in the air.

I feel like writing but what I want to write about is too personal to post on a blog. I can't sleep, my eyes burn, my stomach aches. I'm full of swirling emotions and completely empty at the same time. I guess when I look at it now, I never had a chance. 6 months vs 6 years. I'm a drop in the bucket compared to all that. Any promising future means nothing next to promises already made.

No matter where you stand on capital punishment, it must give you pause today. The UN urged us not to, W called it the execution a step toward democracy. Chew on that for a second. It doesn't make much sense. I don't advocate strongly either way. I'm just saying.

Last night I was blessed by heaven to see Placebo at the House of Blues in San Diego. They haven't been in the US in ages, and then only a show here or there, so I have never had the opportunity to see them in concert. We got there early, had lunch at HoB.
