My Blog
Sticky fingers and greedy eyes.
Sat, December 15, 2007 - 5:49 PMI was greeted this afternoon to a back seat of broken glass. When the glass broke a few item flee'd my compartments, including the ever popular iPod and the cords, chargers, etc. A leather man, and a mini mag light. Although annoyed I'm able to replace these items.
I suppose I can thank the villain for putting the first scratches on my new truck. Bending the window frame and scoring the door panel.
I can also thank the ass cracker for making my day that much better. I have been trying to sedate my anger by being exceptionally friendly to those I interact with. We will see how long I can keep it up.
Merry Holidays, Hug your neighbor.

A good friend posted this in the TransportedSF tribe. I thought it might apply to your situation:
The first time I came to SF my friend gave me some good advice. "Don't leave ANYTHING in your car." Even clothes and trash, may hide something valuable in a thief's eyes. I also never put an after market stereo (head unit) in my cars these days. Nobody wants a stock radio. You can upgrade speakers and stuff still using factory grills so it doesn't look altered. Lastly, stand in the shadows with a baseball bat and ever loose sight of your car. tribes.tribe.net/transport...cc7cf416a4 |

oh poop!!!!
I really feel for you. Yes, it happens all the time here in the city, but still, even with this knowing, it's pure poop! I have a view from my window of a spot on Potrero Ave, along the park where mostly hospital staff parks their cars when working. One afternoon, I watched from my window as a couple of punk-ass crack heads bashed windows of the cars (yes, I called the cops but they came too late on the scene-of course). Those guys really didn't look in the cars before they busted the windows and they were in and out of the cars like a flash. They did 3 cars in less than 5 min. They were not prompted by what they SAW in the car, but just by the hope they would find something valuable. So, I don't think it matters if your car is empty or not. Just sayin' it was their motivation and not your mistake. Just sayin' the wheel of karma will turn for them and I give you much credit for making the conscience effort not to get pulled into all the negative emotions that come from such violation, such as wanting to smash heads or stomp hands. Thanks for not taking it out on those around you. You're a good guy and they are the punks. Getting all your bad luck out of the system before 2008 hits, good deal!
