Motivational Survey

In the first column, rank the 15 factors in order of importance to you personally. Rank the factors by placing a "1" by the most important item to you, a "2" by the next most important, and so on until you have ranked all factors. (15 will be the least important to you.)
In the second column, grade your company or department using an "A to F" grade, as defined below, as to how well in your opinion you are being provided these factors.

										<div>So we have some super nice new neighbors who recently moved to Portland and are seeking employment. Anne has 5 years serving experience and is also a technical writer. Does anyone know of any serving positions that are currently open? Just thought I'd give a holler :)</div>

Through my Massage and Yoga training, I create a unification of many different styles of bodywork. My primary focus is on the 6000-year-old practice of Thai Massage combined with the very modern practice of Deep Tissue Swedish Massage. Most of my work is performed on a comfortable Shiatsu mat in a relaxing atmosphere for optimal relief. Many of the practices listed above can also be fully integrated or applied separately during your session.

What they say.....

"There's a feeling of tremendous spaciousness and at the same time a
feeling of being held. What a joy it is to walk away from a session
with Natasha feeling re-invigorated, centered, peaceful and honored.
It's a little bit of Heaven"

Lance Grider, Portland, OR

"Natasha is by far one of the most intuitive, compassionate and loving healers on this planet. Her massage skills are profoundly effective, in that she is able to determine ones necessity of healing perfectly and then execute her excellent technique accordingly"

Emily Camille, Costa Rica

"A session with Natasha is much more than a massage. It is a healing experience for body and mind. I feel like she knows me (and my muscles) better than I do!"

John Halcyon Styn, San Diego, CA

"Natasha brings heart and professionalism together in
her massage and a healing touch. It is clear she has a
great understanding of the body and its energy
channels. I highly recommend
working with Natasha to help embrace healing and
happiness."

Michelle Abodeely, Santa Cruz, CA

"As a mother and dancer (athlete) I have needed her aid many times and have been blessed to have experienced her gentle healing powers. Each treatment has left me in a state of contentment and bliss. Her treatment stays with you much longer than the time spent in her care."

    </a>
										<div>It seems to trudge along... barely... I find I copy everything I post before I send it here (as a safety measure) as I am used to loosing it - though I use it sparingly these days as it seems to boot me off every five minutes or so (an improvement from before but still frustrating). I am a premium member but am starting to think I may migrate away. Facebook has been serving my needs far better than expected - however my friends do not blog as much there as they do on tribe and I love reading what everyone is up to.

I have heard many arguments against Facebook - privacy being one of them - however I am under the belief that NOTHING you post on the internet is really private - once you press 'send' it is pretty much out there in one form or another.

I also do not care to invest my energy or time in too much thought about conspiracy theories - not saying they don't exist - just not choosing to invest in them - not saying that I ignore what I see either - just a great balancing act of where I choose to spend my life.

This is my Sat morning ramble...

Tribe is loosing my attention... I think I really just want everyone to join and write their logs on Faceook. Ho Hum... Whaddaya think?</div>

										<div>Hello everyone -

I just wanted to give you the heads up that I am composing a BIG list of resources and recommendations for all sorts of things in the Bay Area.
For those of you who knew my work with the Artistry Collective - this is a bit of an off-shoot expansion on that.

In the meantime - I am asking for your help :)

Over the next few months I will be sending out e-mails and posts requesting any and all recommendations and leads - you - my community - might have in regards to various topics.

For simplicity sake each post will be requesting info around a certain category - For example: Healers, High Tech, Automotive, Artists, Musicians etc etc....

Natasha's Food Philosophy

<a href="http://people.tribe.net/natashalivesly/blog/7c6af17c-eff1-4ccd-9daa-1dc3c11ae278">  						          <img class=" picThumb" src="http://images.tribe.net/tribe/upload/photo/ed3/1af/ed31af04-d4aa-4c94-b55f-39a5cdf46619.thumb" width="65" height="55" alt="" />
    </a>
										<div>So I have been working on several projects - one involving a life consultation / facilitation business I am creating. I am posting a loose list of some food philosophies I hold around diet consumption and would love your two bits. What are some of the rules or philosophies you live by in the arena of food?

On a side note, if anyone feels inspired to edit my writing Feel Free - not always my talent and I am open to it. If you do wish to play editor please copy my list with corrections and e-mail to: tabatosh2277@yahoo.com.

Otherwise... whadda u think :) post it :)

Natasha’s Food Philosophy:

My food philosophy has been a long time in forming. I have been in a lot of different places in my relationship and relating to food from being a fast food junkie to hard-core vegetarian. I would have to say that my most recent philosophy is based on my own version of the middle-road. Here are some rules I live by and advise in:

1.	Everybody’s body and environment are different, so what works for me might not work for you. Remember to respect and celebrate the differences and similarities!

2.	The answer to 90% of what we really need in our diet would be available to us if we could just slow down and listen to our own ever-changing bodies. If we could get in tune with what is really going on in our internal environment without listening to a million different messages externally both from the media, our friends and family etc (however well intentioned) we would be able to meet our own nutritional demands and heal (or at least prevent) ourselves of many common ailments.

3.	I believe that we can receive most everything we need (vitamins, minerals etc) from FOOD not from the copious amounts of supplements and pills being advertised. I am not at all opposed to supplements or pills that are necessary for certain situations - however I think we as a culture are out of balance - we are trying to SUBSTITUTE not SUPPLEMENT healthy eating and living.

4.	The demands of our bodies are ever changing so no single diet or way of living is always the right way all the time… variety and flexibility come to mind.

5.	Limit your choices. Do you really need two refrigerators stock piled full of food? We in America are saturated with what seems to me an overwhelming amount of selections. Try and be modest and honest in what you and your family actually need, not just for you but also for a much bigger picture outside the good ‘ol USA. Try using and not wasting what is already in your fridge and cupboard. Just be aware that is all.

6.	Exercise in one form or another is a good thing for the mind – body – spirit. I believe it does not matter how long or what you do… so long as you are regular and consistent and enjoy some sort of activity daily if possible (a walk after dinner, running, laughing, etc).

7.	Laugh! – Laugh A Lot – Laugh Often – Laughter as a form of Medicine!

8.	Shop for Organic produce whenever possible. I do this not only because I wish to limit the amount of pesticides and contaminants I ingest, but I tend to find the taste and quality better – I also respect the environmental practices that seem to go hand and hand with this.

9.	Wash all fruits and Veggies thoroughly (even Organic) from all traces of contaminants, bacteria, fecal matter, etc.

10.	Try and avoid all GMO's both for health reasons and political reasons (we really DON'T know the repercussions yet of these modified foods both personally and globally).

11.	Variety - Variety - Variety - Be open to new food ideas and choices. Flexibility is key here. Try eating a variety of different color vegetables &amp; fruits. Different colors = Different nutrients = More chance of a fully rounded diet.

12.	Food combinations - There are a lot of ideas surrounding these philosophies. My personal belief is to learn what you can but don't get too caught up in worrying about it. I say it is more important to focus your attention on 'What' you are eating versus 'How' you are eating it. I invite less stress as part of the meal planning process.

13.	Try and avoid overly processed foods - stick mainly with "Whole Foods" which include a healthy variety of: Vegetables, Fruits, Whole Grains, Nuts &amp; Seeds, Lean Meats, Vegetable Proteins (Tempeh, Tofu).

14.	Limit your dairy intake - choose goat and sheep milk whenever possible as they are easier on the digestive system.

15.	Limit your sugar intake - choose less refined options such as evaporated cane juice, maple syrup, blackstrap molasses, etc. There are A LOT of great choices out there!

16.	Remember that there are hundreds of other healthy grain choices out there besides Wheat, Soy and Corn (government subsidized “cash” crops). In addition to Wheat (if you choose) you can mix it up a bit with Spelt, Quinoa, Millet etc etc. Variety is the key here! Did you know that Quinoa in itself has all the essential amino acids the body needs? Also try sprouted varieties of these grains.

17.	Don't get caught up in the latest diet fads ("fat- free" "carb-free" craze) try and make your own choices based on your own nutritional needs. Do your own research and remember most of the latest and greatest diet plans are just recycled ideas. Just because "everyone" believes it right now doesn't make it so!

18.	Avoid Partially Hydrogenated Fats &amp; Trans Fats – they are too modified &amp; just not healthy – period. Also remember to keep all oils and fats stored away from heat and light as they can go rancid quickly.

19.	Cooking meals your self is a good thing – in general I find they tend to be healthier as you get to choose your own ingredients– plus it can be a fun adventure to learn to slow down!

20.	Eat Seasonally &amp; Shop Locally whenever possible - try and match the season with what is in season – Farmer’s markets are a great place to start. Your food will be fresher &amp; tastier, the local economy supported, and less impact on the earth (the less distance your food travels the less fossil fuels burned).

21.	Raw vs. Cooked - Once again depending upon the season I vary what I eat and how I cook it. In summer months when the temperatures are warmer a diet that includes more raw foods makes sense. In winter I tend to stick to more warming cooked foods.

22.	Take time to Eat and enjoy life! Why do the French and many other countries as a whole have significantly reduced levels of cancer and heart disease even though their overall intake of alcohol, fat, calories etc is higher? The most common theme they all have in common is the time and energy they dedicate to enjoying their meals! That’s right... Less Stress = Easier digestion = Joy = Nourishment, etc. I am a firm believer in slowing down to eat and relax!

23.	I say most everything in moderation – including my own advice! Eat locally when you can, vegetables can be amazingly delicious, enjoy a piece of chocolate cake or a beer once and a while and remember to savor life.

    </a>
										<div>has led me to a change of plans in my original destination of San Diego. I am now living in beautiful Oakland- Piedmont California!

Surprise! Here is a little catch up for those of you not in the know (which is probably a lot of you because I have not been in much communication these last few months).

Through an extended journey starting around Burning Man which tested, stretched, broke, burned, rebuilt, regrouped, blundered and blessed me in ways that I am not sure I have the words for (one of the hardest gateways I have Ever crossed) I have landed in what I think is the most perfect living-working-creating situation I could of dreamed of.

I am home

The pieces are falling into place... even the pieces I didn't know could fit

From Hades to Heaven (always have liked variety in my life)

No shit!

Soooooooo....

I have moved into a large, beautiful Intentional Healing- Temple space in the Oakland- Piedmont area called "Terra's Temple."

Soooo perfect! It feels to me that much of the last decade I have been preparing for this now - for this project, partners and situation. The center just opened last Sunday and we are still in the very early steps of breathing this new baby into existence... but I have no doubts you will be hearing more soon. For now, here is a little blip on the intention:

Terra's Temple

The Temple will be a sacred space and a nexus for community committed to celebration and honoring of the Earth Mother in all her forms. People can come to the temple to rejuvenate, heal and recharge. A place for both those in need to receive and where even healers can be healed.

The Temple’s main room will be a place to honor rites of passage, hold seasonal rituals, to pray and spend time in devotion. We will host classes and workshops on movement, arts and crafts, sustainability, healing and much much more. We have rooms for healers to work from, so people can come to get healing, bodywork, and other therapeutic modalities. We will also host community gatherings, celebrations, and events of all types.

Here is a press release that perhaps explains more:

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

John Styn

john@hugnation.com
www.hugmobile.com
SAN DIEGO, CA Sept. 28, 2007

"The Hugmobile Hits The Road"

After years of joining people together for virtual hugs online,
HugNation is hitting the streets for a six city "Hug Tour." They
plan to turn digital connections into physical ones and prove their
motto, "The world would rather hug you than hurt you."

HugNation, the Webby Award-winning internet show where people gather
around their computers for a virtual group hug, has been gaining
international popularity over the last 2 years. Its
non-denominational message of love and wisdom shared by 94-year old
co-host, Grandpa Caleb, struck a warm chord in the cold cacophony of
YouTube narcissism.

But what do you do when the co-host of your popular Internet TV Show
dies?

John Styn, Grandpa Caleb's co-host and grandson decided to, quite
literally, march on.

After discussing the idea with Caleb's friends and fans of the show,
Grandson John decided to not only continue hosting the show at
HugNation.com, but to organize a six city "Hug Tour" in honor of his
Grandpa's memory and message.

Last Valentine's Day, shortly before Caleb passed, all the virtual
HugNation participants were invited to Caleb's retirement home for one
last chance at a physical, in-person hug. Caleb shared some words,
online participants met one-another in the flesh, and everyone hugged.
John glowed about the day, "It was an amazing experience. The
experience was truly uplifting and transforming for many of the people
who joined. The Hug Tour is modeled after that magical gathering."

So with Caleb's physical passing, Grandson John and members of
HugNation began organizing a "Hug Tour" where like-minded people could
meet and share the love. In describing the purpose of the Hug Tour
John says, "What is the purpose of a hug? There is none. It is merely
an opportunity to connect and feel love. There are a million voices
telling us to be afraid, to distrust, to put walls up. HugNation
gives us permission to open up, even for a moment, and feel the love."

The entire journey leading up to the adventure has been shared online
at Hugmobile.com, including the process of painting the 24 foot
"Hugmobile" pink with huge pink wings on the sides.
"We actually had the artist mix some of grandpa's ashes into the
paint. That way he will be a part of the journey, no matter where we
go."

The six city starts in Seattle on October 3rd before hitting
Portland, San Francisco, Sacramento, Los Angeles, and finishing in
Grandpa Caleb's final hometown, San Diego. (All hugs meet at 1:00 pm.
Specific locations at www.hugmobile.com) All are welcomed to join.
Participants are requested to come with open arms, open minds…and
wear
something pink.

    </a>
										<div>So... a little catch up for those of you who are still not in the know. The rumors are true, I am on my way to San Diego to move this fall. The reasons as best I can sum them up is a series of synchronicities, an amazing home &amp; future roomate and a Nutrition program I am interested in attending there.

I will be departing my most beloved Portland Sept 26th with all its amazing gifts and lessons over the last seven years and am aiming to land in SD this Nov (with a long stop over in Northern Cali late Sept thru Nov). I will be having a little goodbye garage sale fundraiser at my home the weekend of 9/21-9/22 and will send more info out about that soon.

Change is in the air... I am ready to dive in...
I am eternally grateful for the home and magic that has carved and transformed me in so many powerful ways. Complete gratitude and hopefully a tool belt full of ideas and magic to guide me in my new life.

Love to all
Big lessons
Big life
Big love!!!

~Natasha

PS. If you know anyone you think I should be connected with I am completely open to new friends and experiences. Give me an intro!</div>

*Appetizers and fun finger foods (to be hand fed)
*Asian themed costumes (if you are inspired)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The History of Sake Sundown started before I ever came to Burning Man I'm told in the ancient year 1998. It started with two newcomers to the festival, a lone bottle of Sake and a wild BM dust/rain storm. What I’m told is these newcomers were innocently on their way to a designated event when a crazy dust/rain storm stopped them in their tracks and they were forced to take shelter in a nearby Tee-Pee with six others. What actually happened in that Tee-Pee only the empty Sake bottle will know, however I can tell you that an entire BM village called Woonami Village (or The Cosmic Woo Woo Field in the olden days) was born because of it.
Woo Woo field was where I was invited to camp in 2000 (another
crazy year of rain and cement-mud). One Thursday evening during the event, some friends &amp; I decided to dress up and feed people Sake… Woooaahhh Nellie… what a fun evening – the concept was simple – have fun, connect with someone you may not of before and get fed Sake by sexy Sake delivery people. Years since Sake Sundown has mutated and transformed to look different ways – but always with the intention of connection, fun and having Sake fed to you. In 2004 (the last time I was at BM and the last year of Woonami) Woonami Village and Freedomcommunity were introduced and so was the idea of Sake Sundown.
This year we are creating a new version of Sake Sundown… in the tradition of fun, connection, sexiness, deliciousness, play, transformation and pure ridiculousness… may I introduce you to a new event called:
