about me
Nefabit is no stranger to the stage. She grew up dancing with her mother Delilah Ra, and can’t remember a time in her life that she hasn’t danced. Belly dancing has always been her greatest passion, but she has also trained in a wealth of other dance styles, particularly ballet, hula, flamenco and Irish step, which have given her a unique background to draw from.
Nefabit began her journey when she was about two years old, dancing around in the living room for her parents and friends. When she was six years old she graced the stage for the first time with a flamenco-influenced ballet piece at the beautiful Met Theatre in downtown Spokane. From that moment, she knew that she was meant to be a professional dancer, and has pursued that goal her whole life.
She has since become a sought-after performer, dancing in events from private parties and restaurants, to shows, galas and even parades.
At the age of twelve, she began teaching her friends informally and shortly after served as a teacher’s assistant to her mother. At fifteen, Nefabit began teaching classes on her own. She has since developed a unique understanding of her student’s needs and is known as a practical and patient teacher. She has gone on to become co-owner, artistic director and choreographer for the Mystik Dream Dance Company and chief instructor of the Mystik Dream Dance Academy.
Nefabit teaches and performs full time in Spokane and the surrounding areas and is available for workshops and performance internationally.
